Question for those who passed the NCLEX, regarding performance on practice exams...

Nursing Students NCLEX

I graduate next month (RN) and hope to take the NCLEX in early June. I've been doing a lot of practice questions and exams. I've been taking the comprehensive practice exams through the CDs that come with Saunders, Kaplan, and Mosby. I consistently score around 70-75% on these tests. I'm an A/B student, so to get a 70% on one of these practice tests is a bit disconcerting.

I'm just wondering if anyone here who has passed the NCLEX did a lot of those practice exams, and what kinds of scores were you getting on them?

TIA

Forget it, I see this question has been well-addressed in other threads. I apologize for not glancing over the forum before posting!

Hey there K! It is not the overall score that counts. If you are looking at the KAPLAN test scores, look at the section of the test analysis that deals with BLOOMS TAXONOMY. Then look at the scores in the APPLICATION and ANALYSIS. These are the harder questions; the kind you need to get %50 correct to pass the NCLEX. KAPLAN says that if you get 65% correct on these application/analysis you are in good shape to take the NCLEX. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Yes, that helps a lot, thanks! On my Saunders disk, I set it up so that it only gives me application and analysis questions. So if I'm getting 75%, I guess I'm doing okay!

that sure is a consolation....coz i do get 70-75% correct on the tests too...thanks....
