Pearson Vue Trick 2014 New Interface

Nursing Students NCLEX

Updated:   Published

I just took my NCLEX PN in the state of California. I attempted the Pearson Vue "Trick" and entered all my info: if I've taken the NCLEX before, what school, date graduated. I did not get the "good pop up" when I hit the submit button. I was directed to enter my CC info and once I hit submit I got the message in red as follows: Pearson4.jpg

I've seen on a couple of websites that this is the new Pearson Vue Interface effective Aug 27, 2014.

I was wondering if anyone else had this same thing happen and if they passed the NCLEX PN?

I was wondering the same thing...I haven't heard of anyone yet whose credit card info went through and they failed/passed...it almost sounds as if everyone gets the good pop up

Update:

I have tried the trick several times and my bank finally deactivated 2 of my cards due to a fraud alert. I still am receiving the triangle "good pop-up". I have not been charged by my bank for $200. Just wanted to share this information as I don't want others to have their card deactivated on them when you're at the gas station trying to pump gas and get declined because the bank deactivated your cards.

What this means is that the system first checks to see if the card is actually valid. It probably doesn't put a hold on funds at that point. That's something the bank/credit card issuer can see even though you're not being charged. So, based on this info, I think it kind of goes like this:

Enter Credit Card info, click submit. The system probably does something like this...

1) Query bank - is card valid?

2) If yes, proceed to next step. If no, stop process and issue "Invalid card" statement.

3) Query current results. If "pass" then stop process and issue "good popup" statement, if "fail" then proceed to next step

4) Submit charge to bank, obtain confirmation number, display payment completed screen.

To me, that's the logical steps that the system does. I'd have designed a slightly different process that would have been slightly more aggravating, but this looks like what they're doing with this new process.

If you enter the wrong info, it will automatically tell you have an invalid cc.

I have received "invalid CC" too when I entered the info incorrectly (wrong exp date), But when I used a card with less than $200, I got the triangle "good pop up". I used a cc with enough funds to cover the $200 and still got the triangle "good pop up".

I live in a state that does not participate in quick results.

Just a tip anyone who is as OCD and has lots of anxiety as I do, your bank may deactivate your card for excessively trying to charge your card. This happened to both of the cards I tried.

I believe so too. I will update everyone when I received my results.

UPDATE: I finally received my official pass letter in the mail today in California. It took about 3 and a half weeks.

I took my exam last Tues Oct 7th in CA. I haven't seen my name pop up yet on breeze website where you verify a license. Four of my classmates have had their names populate within 72 hrs. I tired the new pearsonvue trick this morning and I got the "good" pop up. This whole waiting period is agonizing.

@mhill I agree. I took it friday 10/10 and no results yet. Is it our evaluator who receives the results and inputs our license?

hi guys! my friend took the nclex exam this morning Oct 15 2014 and we tried the new trick and it goes all the way to receiving our payment.. i guess she did not pass the nclex... and wait for 6 weeks to have her official result since the state is not participating in quick result.... she is also planning to retake the exam, do you have any recommendations for a good online review center aside from hurst that she already took, like kaplan and ncbsn e learning, any feedback? thanks a lot guys!

Hi! After your friend put her credit card information in and it was charged, what popped up afterwards?

Hi I actually took my NCLEX RN exam today, I did the PVT and put in my credit card info and got to the page where im supposed to verify and hit submit so the charge can go through, except I havent done that yet. this is my second time taking it and yet again I went all the way to 265. Ive been crying since then. I would appreciate any advice that could be given. Ive done NCSBN,Kaplan, and the saunders 7th edition book. Im not sure what to do, where to begin, very lost at the moment.

I took the RN of the 15th for the second time. first try, I got 265, and second I got 80ish questions and got the "good pop up." Let me know if I can be of any help.
