Pearson vue trick

I took my NCLEX Friday, September 25th. I convinced myself I wasn't going to do the pearson vue trick, as I didn't have an extra $200 to give to pearson in case it took my money. About 3 hours after I took it my classmates were telling me to try it, that it was accurate for every one of them. So I did. Pearson didn't take my money, I got the "good" pop up. So I figured if the trick worked, I passed.I was ecstatic! So I have no idea why I decided to try again on Saturday

When I tried the second time it was going to let me register, so I of course thought I failed. My state participates in quick results. I paid the $7.95 on Sunday when they were available and found out I passed.

My point is that the pearson trick is not RELIABLE! I searched everything I could after not getting the good pop up and most of what I found was people encouraging that it works. I just wanted to throw my story out there so you know it's not always correct! If I can save anyone from going through that torture like I did. You just have to wait for your results. It sucks and it's torturous, but it's how it is. And for those that had the trick work for them, maybe it did, or maybe it was coincidence, who knows!

Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on passing; it should still feel great! I'm sorry your results cost you $207.95. I hope more people read this and are spared the same fate. You should have held strong. Maybe try and collect that $200 back from the classmates who led you into temptation...

This is not directed at you, but just a general thing I've noticed on this board:

I get frustrated when individuals here say, "the PVT still works!" No, it "worked" in one case, in the sense that the pop-up lined up with the actual results. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Yet those anecdotes (often from first-time and only-time visitors to the board) are heeded more often than posts from experienced nurses and frequent posters who have seen many, many times where the trick hasn't worked, and will lay out the true facts and full details on how the test is scored and how the system works. But people ignore that, and listen to Susie Q's first post, that says, "Yaaaaay! I passed! PVT forevvvver!" and go hand Pearson another $200. What happened to looking critically at the evidence before us?

everyone goes to step 2 (where you have to enter your info) of the page no matter what. you have to hit submit. if it goes to step 3 where it takes your payment then it is a different story.

The "old" PVT resulted in less chance of you paying $200 if your "pass/fail" flag wasn't set to "pass" at the time you attempted to reregister. You would enter some info, click submit and then it would either prevent you from entering credit card info (pass) or you would see the screen where you would pay for a new attempt (fail). The "new"one takes you to the credit card screen where you must enter the info and it's when you click "submit" that you find out if PVT attempted to (or actually did) take money from your credit card. The new way: Pass = no money deducted from your account. Fail = money deducted from your account.

Under the "new" system, it's much better (and cheaper) to keep an eye on your State's licensing website (how I found out I passed for certain) and using the Quick Results (if your State participates, mine doesn't).

Despite threads more numerous than I care to count detailing why PVT is not a reliable indicator of anything other than someone's willingness to play a game....people keep repeating the phrases "it worked for me and everyone I know who did it, so it works!!!".

And when it doesn't....people are genuinely shocked to find out it's really a game, and the only thing reliable about it is that people will endlessly play it.

OP, if I understand you correctly, you submitted credit card information initially and were NOT charged, it would not let you register again. And then you attempted to register yet again....and COULD register (meaning you paid the funds required for another exam)?

If the info above is correct, then yes....you found out why the PVT is unreliable. If you did not complete the steps as directed, then you likely didn't even do the PVT properly, in which case none of it matters. EXCEPT that maybe you won't be as quick as your classmates to risk a $200 loss on a Magic 8 Ball game

Sounds like you didn't even complete the steps. I don't understand why people don't understand this.

1) Sign up to take NCLEX again

2) Put in credit card information

3) Hit Submit

You have two roads from here: Good popup, or the bad popup (where you are charged).

YOU HAVE TO HIT SUBMIT.

It is highly accurate. Yes, it can lead to some false positives and false negatives, but, it is still incredibly accurate. People keep forgetting to do the final step to find it, though.

You still have to submit!

When i do the pvt, on checkout step 2- submit order 2/3, it says " our record indicates that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration....."

Yes that's the good popup. You should recheck in 24 hours as the NCLEX is graded twice.Congrats!(unofficially)
