Passed NCLEX-PN with Double majoring ADN

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I feel compelled to blog about my life experiences in the last 5 years. I graduated from RN school in May 2011. I was in a major car accident a week before I took my boards exam back in 2011 that left me in a wheelchair for 1.5 year so I wasn't able to pass he NCLEX exam within the time frame of 4 years. According to the BON I have to redo nursing school. All the while my passion has stayed with nursing and Ive floated in the hospital as an ER TECH, unit secretary, registration clerk then eventually changing jobs into the private caregiving setting, which currently am still doing. After my 4 years lapse in May '15, I called my level 4 RN clinical instructor about my last unsuccessful attempt at the NCLEX, (who happens to now be the dean of my colleges nursing program). Needless to say I qualified for the LVN program which had started 2 days prior to me calling her. Within a day I was registered and back in nursing school! Well What a whirlwind of a year it's been! From being in back in nursing school, working full-time, and in between the strenuous hours of studying & exams...still somehow insanely making time to make wedding finalizations, marrying the man of my dreams, finding out we were expecting, and having our handsome son March 24th. All the while still managing to make As & Bs. All the sleepless nights have led up to this day. Im truly thankful to my family and friends for their support, my amazing teachers, and my classmates for the comedic relief when I needed it most. And ladies and gentleman as of 6/6/16 I am proud to announce I have new LVN initials behind my name! I start the LVN-RN bridge program at my school June 20th. So for all those struggling to pass I say this to you...don't get discouraged, believe in yourself, ask for help, read rationales, you completed school for a reason. Don't be afraid of the NCLEX, just look at it as a final exam but you can retake it! I pray for continued success in the lives of those taking the time to read this post. My journey from here only continues...for nothing is impossible with God.
