Passed 3rd take at 75! 2008 grad

  1. I just took mine and thank God I passed.... I know you don't know me but I will just post this anyway hoping that I might help others too..

First of all, before anything else, know this.. If we can do it so will u... You will pass and You will make it! That's basically what I always told myself even if I only got 40's in my uworld drills..

So on my exam I had less than 10 satas so I thought this is not good, I might fail coz I don't have a lot of satas. But I composed myself. I told myself that it's not the end. EVERY QUESTION IS IMPORTANT!

After 75 questions I had this totally different page, an experimental. I didn't finished it I ended the exam coz I was shaking and crying and just want to go home. After 30 minutes I did PV trick and got a good pop up. I'm a little bit relieved but not until I saw the quick result that says PASS! Whew.. Thank Jesus!

The materials I used before on my 2nd take last July was Lacharity and Kaplan 2015 Premier book but I think it did not worked for me coz I don't get the strategy of Kaplan and its different from what Lacharity's strategy. Also, I didn't really had q&a drills. I only review if my toddler is sleeping or napping and that's 1-2 hrs only. I graduated 2008 and my 1st attempt was 2010 and that's explains it I literally forgot everything. So what I did on my 3rd take preparation was I subscribed to uworld for a month and RN mastery and that's it. I just read rationales over and over even if I feel like I can't understand it sometimes.

What I can tell you is that do not allow fear to take over... Be strong, be positive in all aspect. I think it's not only mentally but also physically, emotionally and spiritually prepared. This is just a battle for 2-3months. What is 2-3 months of sacrifice. If you feel like you're lazy and don't want to study, well, drag yourself up and just answer 10-20 questions then you'll be fine. Relax and have a day off from studying. Then get back ON TRACK!!!

I read a lot of good and inspiring stories here and in YouTube and in allnurses.com. I also vented up a lot in there.. haha.. if you want to read here it is. (Nursewifeymomma)

Stay motivated, stay positive, and have faith..

If I were you study it by system, then if you had a hard time recalling things you teach it to people for example to your mom or BFF or bf/gf.. Coz the more you teach or demonstrate it the more it sticks to your brain. Trust me.. I did that a lot. I feel like I'm a teacher in a classroom with students. It feels funny and crazy though haha.. But try it. Coz if you demonstrate it, it means you have a good understanding of the topic/disease process. Teach it out loud in your room or in the park or wherever. Don't mind what other people think just do your business.

One last thing, practice practice practice answering questions EVERYDAY! You'll be fine and you will become RN soon! Pray harder! Have faith in God! DO YOUR BEST and God will do the rest. THIS IS THE MOST MOST MOST IMPORTANT THING RELAX THE DAY BEFORE THE EXAM AND ON THE DAY OF YOUR EXAM!!!

Good luck future REGISTERED NURSES! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿปโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ‰

PS: I once was told by someone here she commented/replied back on the post I've made before,It's July 26, that maybe I need to get back to school to study coz I have zero experience, a decade graduate of BSN and now I'm going to take my exam and she's like questioning me why I didn't take the exam way back asap after Graduationg, why only now? Well guess what thank you for all of what you've said I'm RN now.

Oh my Goodness! Congratulations passing! This gave me so much inspiration for my next try and I can relate with your story since I am a mother as well and out of school since 2016 and still trying to pass NCLEX. Thank you for the empowering words and good luck on your new journey RN!

what a powerful ending. congr. I do not know how to start studying again. I am so afraid of failing again, and again. Thanks for your empowering story and thanks for sparing.

Congratulations dear, what an inspiring and encouraging post. I am so happy for you that after all these years, you never went back to school rather passed the nclex by studying on your own. You put in all your effort and made it at last. What a good news. You made it, so be happy and enjoy your RN status. You are a Genius. Thank you so much for your input and all the best in your journey as a Registered Nurse.

Thank you! If I can make it you can do it too! Just always study and have something to learn each day. Stick to your study plan everyday. It's okay if you can't finish 100 questions in one seat. You can break it to 30-50 in the morning then 25 in the afternoon. Just push yourself don't be afraid. I failed the last time because of the anxiety and fear of thinking that I might fail again. Well hell no, don't let it engulf your thinking. Instead always think that if I study I will pass.. That's it!

Maybe you're afraid right now because you haven't started studying yet and that's okay. That's normal. BUT when you started STUDYING NOW it will change every single day that you study, it will increase your confidence. Until you finish your review material, you will then say where is that f*ckng computer I'm so ready to PASS RIGHT NOW and you will get excited to take the test and pass because you know to yourself that you studied, fully grasped the concept and done the best that you can do. So go on.. Start now! You can make it I tell you trust yourself!
