"Near passing standard" results straight through?!?

I too have failed 4 x's. I have tried every review course and review book that exists. I would say thoroughly go through the content in saunders and do the practice questions in ncsbn. I felt their questions were pretty hard and similar to nclex. I know how it feels when you don't know what else there is to do but look on the bright side....if you're getting a lot of sata questions....you're doing very well! those are passing level questions so you're really close! don't give up! Just know your content and do a lot of practice questions. The repetitiveness really helps to learn content too. I too am taking it again at the end of Dec so I'm trying my hardest to study EVERYTHING...little by little everyday. I wouldn't spend a lot of time doing saunder's questions....I felt like they were too easy. But that's just my opinion. Others would disagree. Good luck to you! :)

I know how you feel. I am getting ready to take my test for the 5th time on Dec. 17th. I am scared to death. I am thinking about purchasing the learning extension myself. I used Saunders to practice my knowledge and comprehension skills. La Charity for prioritization and delegation. Kaplan for strategies and NCSBN learning extension for more practice while waiting for the test day and those practice questions are quite similar to NCLEX test.

I used NCSBN and found a lot of the questions and information to be outdated and I found it didn't do much to get me thinking the way you need to for NCLEX. I quickly realized this and started using Kaplan Q bank. Spring for Kaplan if you haven't tried it already. Do everything they ask you to do and your odds of passing will sky rocket. Good LUCK!!!

My friend failed using Saunders. Quite frankly I used it myself and found it to be useless. I was lucky and passed it the 1st time but would not recommend it. My friend used Lippencott after using Saunders and she found those questions to be far more challenging and said those were more NCLEX style than Saunders. Hope this helps and good luck.

going for my third exam, hows the test?

Honestly, in my opinion I think kaplan, saunders, Hurst, and the rest are good tools to study for nclex however, once you enter that nclex room, you are on your own. That is the time you have to use your own judgement to answer those questions. Therefore, do not fully rely on Kaplan, Saunders and the rest. I personally used Kaplan and although it was helpful, when I got to nclex, the questions were no close to Kaplan. Nclex is very challenging. Just keep practicing thinking critical. And on another note, I think ATI is much closer to nclex questions. I would chose ATI over Saunders. Good luck on those who are going to take the Nclex.

I've heard from different people that Kaplan is more challenging than NCLEX. It depends on the person I guess.

My school uses Kaplan and many say it was helpful. But, it really depends on the individual and how they study and think while taking the test. Others have also said that NCSBN is similar to NCLEX style questions....

After failing miserably the first time and failing with 265 questions the second time I realized that I had had enough of studying content material. I think you might be in the same boat. I would suggest you study more by answering questions. I don't think your lacking content because your coming so close. I think it might be your judgment on selecting the correct answer between two. Correct me if Im wrong. For this I suggest you simply answer questions and learn through that. I don't think you need to be spending anymore money on other study tools except for NCSBN to learn from their questions. Use this or even the free online edition of NCLEX-3500 which is great. Then when your closer to your date, brush up on the content. Don't wait to long to take the test again. Best of luck to you, hope to see you respond soon stating your an RN!
