"Near passing standard" results straight through?!?
So I've taken the test 4x. My third and fourth time I got the same results "NEAR PASSING STANDARD" for each category tested. Both those times I focused on the Saunders CD-rom, being able to see each rationale pop up immediately after answering the question was helpful to me, but not enough. Now that I'm going on my 5th retake in Dec, I'm unsure on where my focus should be. I decided to switch it up and am now doing NCSBN learning extension. Any recommendations on how I should utilize this program? Considering I'M SOOOO CLOSE Should I stick to Saunders and just brush up on content. I'm getting a significant # of SATA questions too!

Thank you AtomicWoman. Checking that out right now. Oh I did download the new ncsbn 2010 test details and it seems as though the percentages of safety and mgmt have increased. Thanks everyone!

What is so different about the updated NCLEX?
So I've been hearing the buzz about the NCLEX increasing their passing standards, and don't know what to make of that. How much harder can this test possibly be? Last time I took the test was this past March only to recieve results that read "NEAR PASSING STANDARD" straight through. Does anyone have a clue on how different the updated NCLEX is?

Failed Nclex twice. Taking it 3rd time and last on March 30, 2010. Need prayer
3's a charm. I just took the exam for the 3rd time yesterday so I know exactly how you feel. You are in my prayers. Hope we pass/ passed. I reviewed with saunders questions and stuck a sticky tab with my name, RN to remind me what I've been striving for (and also to cover up the # of questions that I reviewed). Keep your faith and your chin up. Best of luck to ya!

Which study resource resembles the NCLEX type and difficulty of questions the most?
I completely agree with the above. I also took Kaplan twice and true they do give grest test taking strategies, however they won't save you everytime. Unless you feel comfortable with content, your performance on Kaplan will only cause you to doubt yourself. Atleast that's what happened to me. I am now hitting Saunders questions hardcore. The provided rationales are awesome. Though it can take time to "get into the groove" of doing these questions everyday, I think after a few weeks you will feel more comfortable and have built great stamina of sitting through it. In all honesty, Kaplan QT's made me tired w/ brief rationales. I will be sitting for the NCLEX for the 3rd time. Good luck to the both of us!
