NCLEX: Unsure how to feel

Nursing Students NCLEX

I took my nclex yesterday in about 2.5hrs and i got 103 questions. I got about 18 SATA, 3 exhibit, some priority, and odd medication and disease questions. I am super nervous to check my PVT results as i have heard mixed reviews on weather it works and to be honest i am just scared to get bad news. I felt okay about the exam, some stuff i knew, some i didn't. I don't know if that is a good sign? or if i should feel worse because i should have been getting harder questions if i was doing well? lol ahhh this is torture! just wondering anybody thoughts that would like to contribute!

So, how did it go for you? Did you receive a passing result? Good luck to you.

Hi,

I took the nclex RN today in CA and I'm on the same boat. My questions stopped on 99 or 100 (not sure because I was too nervous). I had 15-16 SATAs, 1 med calculation, 2 exhibits, lots of prioritization, "follow up, most, priority, first" words, and delegation. Idk how I feel about it, as well. I'm hoping that I passed, and you as well! Let's be positive about it!

I am not sure yet! in canada we dont have quick results so i have to wait but i will update when i know! fingers crossed!

For both of you, I can honestly say that nothing you wrote indicates how you did....mostly because unless you stopped at the minimum number of questions (meaning you did REALLY well, or REALLY poorly), NO ONE can know.

The number of SATA questions is irrelevant (why do people keep track?). You can get one or a hundred, has no bearing on anything. Same with med questions, calculations, prioritization questions......people are fond of keeping a tick list of all of this info, but frankly all that ever does is distract people from focusing 100% of their attention on the EXAM.

You have to be able to pass each of the specific domains of knowledge and application of knowledge in order to pass, it's really just that. HOW the information is presented, in what question format, is meaningless. Questions can be posed in any format, on all types of topics, as long s the general domain is covered (and you demonstrate competency in that/those domains).

ALL questions have the potential to be above or below the passing standard; unless you happen to be an expert in Bloom's Taxonomy (and, as JustBeachyNurse reminds me, pedagogy), you won't know how you did until you get your results.

Hang in there. Breathe. Do something fun and get away from your computers. It'll all be over soon :)

Update: I passed!

Congratulations!! Did you do the PVT by the way or you got the official results?

I was too chicken to do the pvt lol so I waited for snail mail! Just got it and it feels so good! I'm sure you passed as well!

I stopped at 93 today. I had 13 SATA. 1 med calculation no put in the order or drag/drop questions. I am too scared to do the trick!
