Hi all,

I am a brand new users on this site. This is my first time posting. Although, i visit site and read post regular basis. I totally love this site. It had helped many nursing students US and foreign nurses in so many ways. This is also the another reason i find this site very insightful, informative and great resources for nursing student and nurses. My big thank you to all nurses users and the team of all nurses.

Today, i have one question to ask to all of you. I need your help. I will greatly appriceate your any help. I just recently took NCLEX- RN test for CA under foreign nurse category . It stopped at 75 questions and it was not that easy. I've mixed feeling since then. I check CA board still no sign when i search my result. I register myself in CBON BreEze system. Nothing yet. Do you know how long does it take to know the result? My ATT expires end of december. In case something happens.. (hopefully it won't happen. I am crossing my fingers and praying hard everyday) i still have time to re-take one more before it expires. I am hoping i will know on time. does anyone who recently took NCLEX-RN had come across with this problem?? How long have you been waiting?? how it took you to get your actual result?? if you are foreign nurse and took NCLEX- RN from different state for CA.. please help me. Other can reply too. any one is welcome... thank you!

Since the CaBON transitioned to breeze, things are a little slow until the system smooths over. Your best bet is to call the Ca BRN, you can try re-registering for the test on pearsonvue, if it prevents you from submitting your credit card information you pretty much passed. If it lets you pay then most likely you have not passed. Good luck.

Also so you know ATT is only valid for one attempt. If you fail then you have to reapply to the state, make a small fee and also pay pearsonvue again for a new ATT

There is no Foreign nurse category, everyone sits the same questions the only difference is if you trained outside the US then there is a different application process

thanks to both for replying. @ silverdragon102, yes, i am aware that ATT is only valid for one attempt. Yes, i have been trained outside of US. But i am a us citizen. I think and believe, my application is valid for 2yrs. I received letter in Jan 2012 for eligiable to take NCLEX-RN. (on my letter it says, if you do not register and test with Pearson VUE within two (2) years from the date of this eligibility letter, your application will be considered abandoned and you will need to reapply to the board for the examination and licensure.) On my understanding and if i am correct, my application is valid till jan 2014. Am i right? i am still eligible to re-take one more NCLEX-RN till jan 2014?? do i need to go over whole reply process again?? I am hoping, i don't have to Re-take. But this mix feeling is killing me. Not being able to see my result also making worst on top of everything. Since California don't participate in quick result, i am unable access with pearsonvue. I also heard that now they are making you to pay $200, if you try doing the PVT trick? I heard that they found people have been doing this and asking them about the PVT trick. There for are making people to pay $200, instead of getting all those poop up. It takes you too page where it says $200. This is hear- say thing... I am not how accurate this thing is. I've also recently took my LPN board from MN and I passed on first attempt. I didn't had to do the PVT trick because it was already post on MN board within 2 days. I was preparing for both at the same time. I did LPN for MN first and then RN as a foreign nurse for CA. Since i am on planing moving. If any one of you know any kind of information... your help will be greatly appreciated. I also try calling CA board, i can't even get hold of them. They are not picking phone calls at all. It goes to the automated message and it says, it we are experiencing high volume of calls, so we are unable to take your call and it gets hang up. bummer!!

No. If you fail the exam you must reapply to the CABRN and pay the re-application fee plus $200 to Pearson. What the letter means is that you had until Jan 2014 to successfully pass your first attempt at the NCLEX.

From CA BRN licensing FAQ

11. How do I reapply to take the NCLEX-RN examination? To retake the NCLEX-RN Examination, you must submit to the Board a completed Request for Reapply/Repeat Examination form along with the reapplication fee of $150. When the Board issues a notice of failing result, the Request for Reapply/Repeat Examination form is provided to the candidate.

thanks to JustBeachyNurse... Like the quotes!

R u sure that we need to submit to the Board a completed Request for Reapply/Repeat Examination after the first exam???

Yes and the $150 fee (plus $200 to Pearson) but only if you wish to retake the NCLEX...
