hi,

i have a question regarding my readiness to NCLEX-RN exam.

i already failed 2 times (because i wasn't ready to exam and went there to try pass with my luck. unfortunately i am unlucky:cry:).

right now i am studying day and night to pass this test. so here is what i accomplished:

education:i graduated from foreign nursing college. and nursing system is kinda different in my country.

nclex tests: i finished comprehensive saunders tests (2nd and 3rd edition's CDs ) with about 9 or 10 out of ten in quiz and 80% in exam is correct.

on Lippincots review 8th edition and lippincots incredibly easy and NCLEX 3500 about 70% correct on comprehensive tests [265 questions]. on Mosby's Saxton Q and A 5 ed, Saxton's nclex-rn 18 ed, Mosby's 2 version getting about 60~70% correct on comprehensive tests [265 questions].

on Princeton review gettin about 60~70% correct on tests [160 questions].

right now finishing Princeton reviews other test [it has about 8 tests with 160 questions] and after that i have Qtrainer Kaplan, Kaplan 07-08 and ExamCramsters simulated practice test to do.

and between tests im watching ATI video lectures.

SO what do u think am i ready to NCLEX-RN or should i study lil bit more?

im confused right now because 65~70% kinda LOW:cry:

No one can tell you if you are ready or not but YOURSELF...NCLEX is about application, critical thinking and analysis. A lot of people fail even if they spent so much dollars for different review courses and books but others pass just using a single book(like Saunders)...when do you plan to take the test again? You might want to try Suzanne's plan. Its very simple and effective. It also indicates your strengths and weaknesses. You have to do questions and understand the rationale behind each right and wrong answer. The percentage you get from comprehensive tests is not an indication if you are ready if you don't know why you chose your answers in the first place. This means you also need to master the strategies in choosing the right answer. Hope this helps you and others who are planning to take the NCLEX in the near future. The books that you are using are old, and they do not contain the new format of questions. I would definitely recommend getting the 4th edition and use that to prepare with if you wish the best job of passing.
