NCLEX Eligibility For GA

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I am a double major with BS in Nursing and BS in Healthcare Management. I should be done with the nursing program Jan '16, but won't be able to finish HCMG until Dec '16 which will be when I graduate. I was wondering if I will still be able to take the NCLEX during the summer after I'm done with my nursing degree requirements??? I don't see why I wouldn't be able to. I just would hate to have to wait all up until January of 2017 just to take it. I would still be getting pinned anyway. I do not need my HCMG degree to get my Nursing degree either, I could stop if I wanted to, but choose to finish the four classes left for HCMG Fall of 2016. Hope that makes sense!!!!

Specializes in L&D, infusion, urology.

Why on earth are you doing a double major?? Nursing school is hard enough, especially if you failed first semester, as you stated in your other post. Drop the management degree for now to focus on school, or you'll have a very difficult time becoming a nurse. You can't worry about the NCLEX until you're passing nursing school.

Look at the BoN website. You need to look at the requirements for licensing by examination. You need to be a graduate normally

A lot of ppl do it it's actually possible as long as you're not taking hcmg classes along with nursing classes in the same semester. I only plan to take hcmg classes during summer semesters....we only need 11 classes for hcmg degree

Per GA BoN you must be a graduate of a registered nursing program. So no, you are not eligible if you finish the classes without graduating.
