Nclex and stuff

You're anxious, it's expected. You're nervous about the Great Unknown, the licensing exam...and it's expected.

Study, focus, pay attention to what you DO need to know about the NCLEX and avoid the crapola that people say that you DON'T need (mainly, incorrect information, fiction posing as fact, etc etc).

One person's 'hard' is another person's 'easy'. Some find the HESI hard, some easy. Some find the NCLEX hard....some easy. I think you get the point.

Hang in there. Do what needs to be done, and BEAT this thing :)

I am also exactly one week from my exam and def starting to feel the heat. I have similar scores to some of yours. I got a 1021 on my first Hesi exit exam and a 920 for the second. MY diagnostic I think was around 65, readiness was 68, and QT trainers 1-5 ranges from 59- 67. My Qbank average is 66%. I got a 62 on both the NCLEX sample exams (50Q exam). How'd you do on QT 6&7? I am saving 6 for tomorrow and then 7 for sunday so I have time to review before the test. Other than that, I've been studying EKG's, lab values, questions I got wrong, reviewing all rationales. I was also mostly a B+ student throughout school. I think as long as we prepare and do everything we can, then we will pretty prepared. I am taking the day before off to relax. I think we'll be fine.

I was in basically both your shoes. I was a very solid B+ student and I got well over 900 on the HESI exit exam. While I knew that I knew my stuff, I studied... but primarily I spent my time doing NCLEX-style questions and focused on breaking them down so that I could really figure out what was being asked. Then I'd look at the rationales and see why each answer was right or wrong... not just why the rationale said it was right/wrong. The day before the exam, I did a couple of short NCLEX-style tests just to keep my brain primed for answering those questions and later that evening, I headed off to bed. The next morning I went to the test center and checked in. The process was relatively painless and the exam got underway.

Once you're seated in front of the computer, just do your best and take each question one at at time.

I passed and I'm now an RN.

Forgot to say that I didn't feel that I was entirely ready for the exam. Turns out I was...

I actually was doing q6 today. I got 100 down I'll be finished tomorrow. And I'll do q 7 over the weekend. It sounds like you'll pass. Those are pretty good scores IMO.

Hope you're right. I took 6 today and got 75, 7 I think I'm going to do on sat or sun. When is your exam? I'm July 9th.

I take mine the 10th. Not looking forward to it.

I am very nervous but kaplan is easing some of that now. I tend to be a very nervous test taker in general and often change answers and don't always trust my gut which is usually right. I am getting excited now though, I bet you by next week we'll be nurses!!!

I'm taking my NCLEX RN in about a week. I'm super anxious and do not feel prepared. In nursing school I was a solid B+ student. I passed my exit Hesi with a 934. I've heard that the hesi is harder than the nclex and I hope that's right.

I've taken Kaplan and found it somewhat useful.

I've scored a 61 on my diagnostic.

68 on the readiness test.

And the q trainers range from 51-58.

I'm not too sure I'm ready but I just really want to get this test over with and start working.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Before i took my exam..i never felt 100% ready ..i just know that i have informations that i know will help me so its like 50% ..like most people will say to you scores doesnt matter as long as you know why those were the wrong ones and the correct ones..i took my LVN exam after answering Kaplan RN 1-2QT and 70%qbank.. and 3wks after i passed my RN exam after completing qbanks and QT..i was sure really bothered before because im getting 50s-60s in my qbank compared to my QT but i just shrug off my shoulder,read rationales of why its the correct answer and forget abt it like what other people here adviced me and i am glad i passed both :) Best of luck to you!

yea, I know! Did you do QT7 yet?? I am freaking out a little after that one I got 61.52 which is above recommended but I got 39% in health promotion and maintenance.
