Kaplan's Qbank

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello :)

I have a question. I am taking my boards next Wednesday(the 23rd). I purchased kaplan's qbank and I'm doing 200 questions per day ( I'll be done with them by this Saturday). Anyways, these questions are very challenging and they really do keep me on my toes. I know I should not get hung up on predictor scores because the nclex rn is one unpredictable exam BUT My qbank average is anywhere from 54%-68% and I can't find it anywhere on the kaplan site where it explains what an "average" qbank test scores should be. BTW: never in my life have I ever scored less then 80% on nursing exams (seeing 54%-68% hurts my big heart lol :redbeathe)

Thank you!

did you feel like kaplan prepared you well for the test? Was Kaplan and Nclex similiar?

You know, I think it helped me a little bit on how to deal with the ridiculousness of some of the questions and on what the NCLEX is specifically looking for. It helped with the priority of the pts too, which I had a lot of on the NCLEX. That being said I wish I had done more and did them more evenly after I graduated. I kinda waited a month to start working on them before I took the test.

Prettyinpink,

I'm stalking this thread looking for you to post, "I got the good pop up!"

Rooting for you!

You are too sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! Well wow, that was crazy. My test shut off at 75 questions and I walked out of there crying my eyes out on the phone with my mom thinking I for sure failed!!! That test was so hard! :( Right after I went across the street to my school and tried to re-register and it gave me the pop up saying I can't re-register though so cross your fingers that the trick works for me!!!! What an emotional 2 days it has been. I've been at the verge of tears on the drop of a dime hahaha. I am so glad I am done and am praying to God that I passed!!!!!

NOYESNO - You are going to great tomorrow I just know it. I am crossing my fingers and will say a prayer for you. Let me know as soon as you try and re-register cause i know it's not gonna let you :D :D

Just remember to breath. When I started my hands were shaking SO bad I was a nervous wreck but eventually got myself together.

:D

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yeah:

The experience sounds horrible but the outcome is good. The PVT is really accurate. The official results will be a pass! I'm sure of it. Congrats on being done, you'll NEVER have to go through this again. What a relief! :)

I totally know what you mean about being emotional/on the verge of tears at all times. It's like PMS times 100. I almost think I need a designated driver for tomorrow. I bet I'll be a basket case afterward, unfit for driving.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the finger crossing, prayers, and faith in me.

I'll shall return to this thread after I do the PVT tomorrow!

In the meantime, I'll try and breath (it is becoming increasingly difficult to do).

I hope I'll be fine!!! I might quit studying soon. The more I study, the more anxious I get. YIKES!

Are you talking about my username? haha! I can't ever remember why I chose it.

Glad your husband is supportive. That makes things a lot easier. :)

Wow, that is a lot of pressure. Talk about stress!

OMG, great job on the 60%! You slid onto the base you are SAFE! WOOHOO!

I'll post back tomorrow after I do the trick! Thanks for your support! :)

You guys are so great, thanks for being so sweet! I only had I think like 7 SATA's and 1 audio. No math or anything! And a TON of meds which I felt like I was blowing cause I didn't know much about any of them haha. For me, I think the SATA's were the easiest part to the test but who knows it's different for everyone! Just so glad I am done and it's all out of my hands. JUST HOPING PEARSON VUE TRICK REALLY DOES WORK!!!!!!! I've checked it about 15 times today making sure it still gives me the good pop-up hahahha.

CAN'T WAIT to hear about your experience tomorrow noyesno, you will feel SO great when it's all done and over with and you see that good little pop-up. :D :D

And good luck to you chillceb, just believe in yourself... You can do it!

And jen - Great job on QT 7!!!

i got the "good" pop up! :)

the test took me 2 hours. i got 75 questions with about 25 select all that apply (torture!).

when i left the testing center and got into my car, "here comes the sun" (an acoustic version) came on the radio:

here comes the sun, here comes the sun,

and i say it's all right

little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter

little darling, it feels like years since it's been here

here comes the sun, here comes the sun

and i say it's all right

i took the song as a good sign, went over to the panera that was within .2 miles of the testing center and did the pvt. the first two times i did the pvt, i got the "non-conclusive" pop up. i waited for a few minutes, tried it again and got the "good" pop up!

the worst part of this experience, for me, was the anticipation. i cried (two tears) this morning before i drove up to the testing center. when i got into the groove of the test, i was fine except for question 75. i sat on that question for about 15 minutes.

thanks everyone for your support, so much!

jenfos2 and chillceb, i'm rooting for you guys! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!:yelclap:

That is exactly what happened to me!!!! When I got to my school the pop-up originally said something like with like "current test results" or something I don't know.... But when I came back and tried like half hour later, it was the good pop up!! I think what that meant was that the test/results were still pending and getting finalized. Now the waiting game is on till we both see our names on the BRN website!!! I'm in San Diego, California though and our state doesn't do the "quick results" so who knows how long it will take! I am hoping to see my name up there by Tuesday morning at the latest!! ;) What state are you in noyesno?? I am so proud of you!!!!!! It's so funny cause when I woke up this morning I some how had this insane memory of a lot of my questions and looked up stuff and found out that I guessed right on a lot of them :D Mostly it was the 1,000 medication questions I got that I remembered haha.
