Ok, so I did what I kept telling myself I would not do, I took a comprehensive test and blew it!!! I felt semi-ready for the NCLEX but I only got 56% on the test today. Of course that is better than I did before the LPN boards and I still passed that one. However, it really does mess with your mind. OMG! I have 2 weeks left till the big day and now I am officially nervous, neurotic, and stressed. Ok, done venting.:Crash:

Any advise on studying that can help with only 2 wks to go?:plsebeg:I guess I'm just feeling the stress of the test and a little dumb after the comprehensive test.

Don't feel dumb

Just keep on doing questions! I was in 50's (sometimes 40's) when i first started, then I just kept on and kept on. Then I started to see the overall scale rise to the 60's then 70's. But I still had slips here and there. I found that if I miss the same sort of questions over and over again I start to get it through my thick head and start getting them right.

And of course I just took NCLEX today, and felt like I didn't know a thing. But that's suppose to be normal I guess.

Just keep plucking away and you'll do great!!

melinurse,

i know you may seem discouraged, but remember some people do poorly on the comprehensive tests, question trainers, etc, and still come out succeeding the nclex exam. yes you can use it as a baseline, but i wouldn't stress too much about the score. you still have 2 weeks left. you have been posting like crazy on the random facts thread (and i so appreciate that!) and i know your smart. you have to believe and have faith and know that you can do this and that it is possible. also, remember the nclex is just a test. it does not in the long run determine the care of nursing and how great of a nurse you will become. trust yourself and pray and remember all things are possible. you are studying hard and preparing for the nclex, it will pay off. i wish you the very best and see you on the random facts thread!! :heartbeat:icon_hug:

Thanks for the wonderful words of encouragement. I guess test anxiety is getting the better of me.:p I still feel like I will do ok on the NCLEX itself, but now I have that little voice of doubt. I am thinking I should do what I did for my LPN boards and not study or do any questions but .......................................... that is not going to happen. I will study extra hard these next 2 weeks, I will pass the boards, I will not eat the morning of the test to prevent me from doing this :barf01:. Sorry about the bad humor, but I felt like that the last time I took boards too. My mantra is going to be ... I can, I will, I must.

you can, you will, you must! and remember, the day before you test, don't look over anything, just relax, do something fun, and free your mind!! :)

I got discouraged too when I had low score. I feel your pain.

Keep doing questions. You will make it. You will do just fine. Soon you will say to yourself "she was right".
