How long did you wait after taking the Hurst Review to sit for NCLEX-RN?

I need to map out my study plan and I am trying to figure out how much time is enough to be ready to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam. I am taking the online Hurst Review and I love it. I have completed all the packets they have on the different subject areas and I am ready to start doing the studying part that is recommended. I have listened to all the lectures multiple times. (My husband put all the lectures onto my ipod so I can do other things while I am learning. How long did some of you who took Hurst Review study for before you took the exam? I should be receiving my ATT any day now to schedule my exam. I was thinking to give myself a solid three weeks with most of my time devoted to studying. Is that enough time?

I realized today that Hurst also changed the NCLEX test questions that they offer for the online program. Apparently to keep up with the new 2010 test plan. I just wish I printed out the Mock NCLEX they offered before they exchanged it for this new program. I was saving it for last but hopefully these new questions will be better.

I also am using the Saunders CD in study mode so I can complete each subject area with all the questions. (I may not have time to finish the Pharm section though because it is has 739 questions) Hurst has a lot of supplemental information on drugs so I figure to just review that as much as possible. I also am using the book Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment by linda lacharity. I have completed 10 chapters so far in that book. SATA is my weakness so I am finding this book very helpful. I just star any of the ones I get wrong in the back in the answer key then I plan on just reviewing the ones I got wrong closer to my test date.

Wow, this is ditto to my study plan....Its been two weeks since Ive completed my HURST live class....my plan is to sit for the boards in three weeks. My prayers are with you.

Hello!

I took my NCLEX on Thursday the 17th and I also took the Hurst review... Here is what my study schedule was...

Take 2 sections of the book each day. Work through the material and understand what you are looking for in regards to signs & symptoms as well as WHY those signs & symptoms will be present. I must admit, the questions on NCLEX aren't as straight forward as you might think so be sure you know what you're looking for. Then.... do the Q-review quizzes on the Hurst website, you are allowed 6 attempts. I think I completed 4. I also did the questions on the 5th day CD and some from my Saunders book.

I studied a total of a week & a half & passed my NCLEX! : )

I hope this helps you pass your test! Also, when you're done testing try the Pearson Vue Trick! It really does work!

People generally take from three weeks to three months. Up to you to determine when you feel ready. You can reschedule in both directions if the time comes that you feel you absolutely need a different date. Good luck.

How did you get the lectures on your ipod?? I am trying to do the same thing but cannot figure out how to do it!
