Help:NCLEX-some advise been trying to pass for 6times

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello guys,it's been 2years that I am a member of allnurses.com and been trying to pass my NCLEX-RN,I've been taking it for 5x and the recent one is last October 13,right after

My birthday, buy unfortunately didn't passed again,I didn't visit allnurses.com,once in a while after my first try of my NCLEX-RN.

I feel like I'm so dumb, that I can't be a nurse, that I am not going to take my test ever again.I'm so frustrated. But yesterday,I visit again allnurses.com just to browse how many times you take your NCLEX-RN and alot of people too are on the same boat, not just me and they don't give up and keep trying others passed others still failed

But still keep on trying.so now I am ready to take my test again.and I think what bugs me so much too is I live with my family they were supportive but they stress me out too much.like I can't go out with friends, can't go home really late like that and that.I am on the right age now.and I don't feel like I am growing living with them and I am planning to move out.they don't like it but I have to.anyways I am planning to use Lippincott the quiz card

On my iPhone, one of my friend pass just using that tool on his iPhone and it's like real NClex and has a percentage

So you know were your good at.and plan to use some RA Gapuz books it's a international book for foreign nurses. Any thoughts guys?

I am not going to give up.all I need is to pass this test and I an good.

Just be persistent. You will pass as long as you don't give up.

I am almost giving up.my last two test is 265 and still failed.

i would love to help you. i failed too. but now i got a good pop up and still waiting for my official results. what kind of study materials did you use? or study method?

this is what helps me:

pneomonics

memorize lab values (which i find kind of easy)

la charity

and now i realized kaplan qbank helped me.

i would like to go more detailed here. but im still waiting for my official results. by monday i would post the things that helped me! I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO FAIL..so dont worry youre not alone. and it's not the worse thing that could ever happen.

Well.I've been just using Saunders and Kaplan, but I've been buying other books before like Lippincott, new format, but end up returning them.I got always overwhelm with my study materials to the point that I am confused what to use first.but this last time I used Kaplan and Saunders again and I just do alot of questions.I think the problem with me is I am trying to accomplish a certain number of questions a day even if I don't understand what questions asking.and I am relying too much on my scores.

I study 8hours and after work Ali study again.I study whole week.I can't study at home because I don't have even own room and crowded and loud.

This last test I thought this is it.but I am wrong cried so hard I was hurt so bad, eventhough I don't have my official result yet PVC trick is accurate.

I'm just really frustrated now,but I am glad that I gave my self a chance to visit allnurses again because on this site it gives me hope again.not going to give up

Don't lose hope you can do it!!! I'm a first taker, planning to take it mid february, and i'm using Saunders and doing Kaplan questions and NCLEX 4000 for my practice tests... Goodluck fellow nurses!!! :-)

angelavenice,

I used Kaplan, Lacharity, Mnemonics, and Saunders.

When you do your questions, look at the rationale after each question or after every set.

The Kaplan test question sets of 75 to 150+ didn't actually help me,

because I was more concerned of my time and how many correct answers I got -

instead of understanding the question presented and the rationale of the answer.

LaCharity is an awesome book. Prioritization and delegation helped me a lot in my NCLEX.

Personally, the strategy of how it answered questions is way better than what is taught by Kaplan.

Mnemonics was a huge help in remembering the essential facts.

But it will be difficult to understand the mnemonics unless you know the significance of each.

Now with the Saunders, I did the questions ONLY. I didn't even bother reading the lecture part.

Afterwhich, I would look at the correct answers and would really concentrate on the rationale.

If there's one detail that confused me, I had my laptop handy and researched online for better understanding.

Do the questions on the DVD provided when you have free time. No pressure on how many questions you should do daily.

Do about 20 per day, as long as you make sure those 20 rationales stay with you.

If you think you are in a great mood and with a clear mind, do as much as 150 in a day.

I would do questions while watching TV or while at work when I'm not busy.

I made some notes of all the normal lab values. Know what those values mean.

It is not college anymore, memorization per se won't do the trick. You've got to know the meaning of those values.

I also made some notes on Pharmacology. Tricks and list of meds.

Just keep going through your notes until it stays in you.

The downside of memorization is that when you forget it, it's gone forever.

Make your own strategy on how you can remember what you read... but as I keep saying, UNDERSTAND what you read.

I printed out a copy of the FACT THROWING page on this website.

I would read it when I am bored, together with my little notes.

Repetition is the key. Read it over and over and over.

Somehow, it stays in your subconscious.

Good luck!
