Hallelujah, passed nclex-pn on first try!

praise god, i give him all the glory, all the praise, the highest praise, hallelujah! thank you jesus! jesus was with me while i was taking the nclex. i took the test on 1/28/11, i got 10-12 sata questions, 1 peds calculation, many infection control questions, and the spiderman thing did help. not a lot of priority questions but some, 1 reorder question. so i walked in the test site feeling good confident and calm, a little while after i began to take my test the devil tried to attack me, my head started hurting, my heart began beating fast and i was freaking out. i just close my eyes, prayed, called on jesus, and he showed up because all of a sudden my head ache went away, my heart stop beating fast, i was calm again and confident. i said to my self ok jesus is here with me, he never leave or forsake me. i started up answering questions again, i kept saying to myself you're doing good. you got this sheila, if god brought you to it, he will get you threw it. so, i get to question 85 and i selected my answer, and i closed my eyes said in the name of jesus this is the last question and i'm confessing my nursing license, then it turned blue and i smiled, and praised god. i got home and i was feeling good, then the devil showed up again telling me, you didn't pass, you didn't get the difficult level of the test. so that's what i started thinking, because the test was so easy. i thought i failed now, i said oh no, i must not have passed because the test was not difficult, everyone say it's difficult, and they guess on every other question. people say that they get meds they never heard of, diseases they never heard of, everything on my test was very familiar, it was just like the practice questions that i have been doing to prepare for the test. so, i let the devil put negative thoughts in my mind. but the devil has no power over me, the holy spirit lives within me, the holy spirit spoke to me and gave some scriptures: delight yourself in the lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. (psalms 37:) therefore i tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. ( mark 11:24), i can do everything through him who gives me strength. (philippians 4:13) so the word and prayer put me right back on track. i didn't try the pvt pearson vue trick, instead i did the gvt god vue trick, only it wasn't a trick, i fasted 5 days after the test, that's what the holy spirit wanted me to do. i could have got the results in 48hrs but the holy spirit lead me to wait 5 days, so i obeyed. then i realized that the test was easy to me because i have well prepared myself and i had lord with me and he is in control. hallelujah! here is how i prepared: first off use the saunders comp review book it is a good book.

second make a test date, give yourself 30-60 days. third, pick a date to start your studying, monday is a good day. next, get the following books: saunders comprehensive review, saunders q&a review, saunders strategies for alternate items formats, saunders review flash cards, nclex rn q&a incredibly made easy, lacharity prioritization, delegation, and assignment, kaplan strategies for rn. get a nursing audio review like feuer's. okay so now start on a monday, get a calendar and write out your plan day by day.

1/31/11 monday: review saunders comp, start off with the systems. integumentary disorders and nursing sciences. go over the content monday and tuesday, practice questions on the saunders cd-rom thurs, and friday, over the integumentary system. do 100 practice questions on the cd- rom, do practice questions from incredibly made easy, do practice questions from saunders q&a, saunders review cards. so, 4 days go over content, 3 days go over questions from all sources. also if you want to kill two birds with one stone, when you go over an adult system go over the pediatric system also. so, m-f integumentery disorders adults, integumentery disorders peds.

saturday and sunday take a break

2/7- 11: oncological and endocrine disorders, review for the adults and peds 4 days, do questions 3 days

2/21- 2/25: review gi disorders and respiratory disorders, review content for the adults and peds 4 days, do nclex questions for 3 days

so you get the point, and after you go through all the med-surg systems and peds go over maternity, fundamentals, cultural, meds math.

okay i also want to include make sure you read the rationales for wrong and right answers, make sure if you don't understand a word or term look it up, i am a visual learner so i watch a lot of the disorders, diseases, diagnostic test, procedures on youtube. look at picture images on google image. study by the computer and internet. also get the nursing audio, and whenever you're driving, cleaning, cooking, brushing your teeth listen to the nursing audio. it doesn't matter if you study in that order or not, or if you have a different study plan, just get a structured consistent study plan. the last 2 weeks before you take your test study in the kaplan strategies book, and just practices only questions last 2 weeks as many as you can. i also prayed a lot, i read the bible, go to church, fasted 3 days before the test and you can fast 48 hrs while you're waiting for your results or whatever the holy spirit lead you to do. sow a seed to the kingdom of god for what you are believing in god for, if you don't sow what will you reep? god has many blessings for us and he will reward those who diligently seek him (hebrews 11:6)

so keep faith, keep thinking positive, and god will make things easier for you! blessings to all who are taking the nclex soon. i will probably post a youtube video soon about the nclex. also please excuse any mistakes in this post, words left out, words misspelled, i did not proofread, i'm actually exhausted from last week. thank you for all comments in advance !
