Got good pop up but still worried!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Just took NCLEX PN today 02/04/2013 ...at 2:00pm, i finished the exam around 4pm with 85 questions. Well i was really hoping to answer only 85 questions because I don't think I can answer all 265 in 5 hours. English is my 2nd language so I had to read the stem twice to make sure i understand it right  ...questions were long.....phewww :(Felt jittery and nervous....(hungry,tired,feeling dumb, scared) after the test...i tried PVT 15 times already and it and keeps saying............

"Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time."

But I still am worried and part of me doesn't believe the good pop up.......because most of my answers were basically just a guess.....maybe i only had 10 sure correct answers. I am hoping I passed it...:nailbiting:

Yeah, I'm still kinda worried too. Took test yesterday and got good pop up. Can't wait until tomorrow for quick results! :)

CONGRATULATIONS

I am a firm believer of the pvt. I graduated December 8, 2012. I took my nclex on Feb. 2, 2013. Tried the pvt an hour after testing and got good pop up and my license was just posted on cali bon this morning. After testing I could of sworn I failed because I had 220 questions before it shut off. So keep hope alive!

Same here, I took the Nclex yesterday 02/05/13 at 2:00 pm. The computer also stopped at 85 qquestion and I completed the test around 4. I had lots of SATA questions, 1 math, lots of maternity questions. I logged in to PV earlier today and tried to re-register for the test, I got the good pop up also but I'm still skeptical that I pass....I'm still worried. So pinayko, did u officially pass?

congrats pinayko! Pinay Power!!! tips tips..

Thank you guys.....heres what i did to prepare for the exam...for those of you who wants to know

1 month preparation

I purchased the Kaplan q bank-and I answered 1000 questions and after that I took again the questions i didn't answer correctly

I bought kaplan book to study for strategies (its an awesome book, only 14 bucks at amazon)used these strat to practice answering the tests( aside from that i paid the 2 days course(those 2 days weren't very helpful, since i read the book already, and the course was basically teaching you how to use the strategies, so i would not suggest the course instead just buy the book and the q-bank)

Kaplan encouraged you to use these strategies in every questions.....but when i took the test i only applied the strategies to questions i was having trouble answering. Kaplan strat didnt apply to all my NCLEX questions anyway....yet i will recommend you to purchase the book and the q-bank

Tips for kaplan: Kaplan questions are way harder than the real NCLEX but it helped me because i had to review topics that i wasn't very familiar with, i did flashcards for some info like labs, normal values, also when you are used to practicing hard questions.....it would be easier to answer easy structured questions. My Kaplan readiness score was 70%....my q banks scores were 58%-68%.

Last 2 weeks(unexpected review materials) i was reading blogs at allnurses and a lot of them mentioned exam cram and priority and delegation.I purchased them in a 1 day delivery.

Priority and delegation by Lacharity

Very helpful book for me....it is a must book...it gave me confidence answering those questions like "who do you see first" "which patient can be delegated to the LPN or CNA....those type of questions... I didn't answer the case study part...but the book is structured nicely...you must buy this book...

Last week of studying

Exam Cram

Questions were easier than Kaplan, they advised to get at least 77% before you take the test. I only got 73% and took it anyway

I answered 20 at a time then checked and grade my answers, i read the rationales too both right and wrong answers.

If you are a morning person then schedule your test in the morning....i'm not so i took it at 2:00pm....I took aspirin before i checked in because i always have a headache in the middle any nursing tests( i didn't do that during nursing school but hey! its NCLEX exam, plus i was preparing myself in case i get to answer the maximum 265 questions (who wouldn't have a headache sitting for 5 hours answering 265 questions?) It is a torture.

Lastly, hydrate yourself....don't take NCLEX hungry....bring jacket with you...and believe PVT . Goodluck to all of you who and congratulations to those who passed it already...

I took NCLEX today. It shut off at after 75 questions. I got the good pop up. Won't be completely relaxed until I see my license activated at the dept of health website.

Question, though. I see some posters that do the pvt more than once. Has anyone had it change from a good to a bad pop up? That's got me a li'l nervous too, I admit.... LOL

I was also thinking the same way....i kept checking because i was scared it will changed and go to cc.......you pass...congrats
