In about 36 hours, I'll be taking another swing at the boards. I'm more confident now than I've been with my last attempts! You are what you eat as they say, and I want to be prepared to have the right brain food on test day. I'd like to hear some suggestions as to what I can eat for breakfast and what I can pack for snacks to eat on my breaks during the exam. Obviously, I am staying away from sugars and most carbs to avoid any potential crashes.
What healthy and nutritious foods can I pack to give me good energy?

I didn't eat before I went I so that I wouldn't get nauseas from nerves.
Also, you're not an RN yet, son it's against the TOS (and the law) to identify as one. You should change your screen name.
Good luck on NCLEX.

Oof I don't think that I could do that. But different strokes for different folks!
Thank you for telling me about that law. I will look into it. However I do not attach 'RN' or 'ASN' to my actual name in any medium in real life or on the internet.
Thank you for your well wishes!

I actually only sat for 75 questions but I bought a banana and boiled egg with water that I was prepared to eat during breaks. I actually ate my previous nights left overs for breakfast ha! So I packed that to prevent that big crash that would happen

I've been told by many teachers that before major tests they will give their students peppermint hard candies and a few professors told me they tell their students to do the same. Not sure what the correlation is other than maybe giving the brain plenty of sugar/carbs to function at its peak. The morning of my NCLEX, I had orange juice and right before the actual test I took a peppermint, passed first try no problem.
