Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi Everyone,

I applied for Re-Take NCLEX RN in FL BON this is going to be my 3rd time taking it but for some reason they wanted me to do remedial course because I took 2 NCLEX RN Before in different state and failed.. I dont know what they are trying to impose about "regardless of the jurisdiction"..

I dont know why I cant take it for the 3rd time in FL...

Overall I took NCLEX 4 times already I dont if they means All 4 failed including different state?

So overall this will be your 5th time taking the NCLEX? Well if you want to be a nurse it sounds like the FL BON wants you to take a remedial course. It couldn't hurt, right? Because it seems like you are having some difficulty somewhere. Are you a foreign educated nurse?

The answer is simply that the NCLEX is a national exam, not a State "board" or exam, and Florida does not allow anyone who has failed three times to get a license from the State of Florida unless a remediation course has been completed prior to the fourth attempt. It's their license, their rules.

Failing four times already does indicate you need SOME type of remediation of you expect to pass at some point. Four times without success means you aren't doing something right, and need to find out what that is.

After the 3rd attempt FLBoN like many other states mandates refresher classes prior to another attempt. You have failed 4 times. You need additional remediation

Hello, It doesnt matter if that is from a different state?

Thanks for the answers....

Foreign educated nurses have a lower pass rate on the NCLEX than US educated nurses. Take the remediation course & look back at the CPR that you received after the NCLEX to see what areas you are weakest in.

As has already been said....No. It is a national exam, and Florida requires that any applicant for a Florida RN license be able to pass within the maximum number of attempts OR they are required to complete a set of coursework (remediation) before attempting again.

Florida told you what their requirements are. If you want a license in Florida....do it.

Your ONLY alternative would be to apply for a license in ANOTHER State that will allow you five tries and IF you pass at that point and get a license you can apply for a Florida license by endorsement. Costly venture.

Bottom line is that you have not been successful passing after taking it four times, which clearly indicates that you need to do SOMETHING beyond just studying if you hope to pass this test.

Also has been said that your chances are most definitely lower than an applicant who studied in the US, and since you know this to be the case I would think you'd want to do everything possible to increase your personal odds of passing. For you, that means a remediation course at the very least.

Good luck.

Where do you plan on living & working? FL or CA?

It should not be this complicated....
