Failed NCLEX-LPN three times

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took the NCLEX LPN exam for the third time on Friday and just found out I failed again. I don't know what I'm doing wrong... I used the Saunders book, wrote flashcards, did questions. I'm really beginning to wonder if Nursing is for me or if I should just get certified as a Nurses Aide for now. I dont have any medical background and thought that might help me too learn things. Not having any money or a job right now too is something to consider too .It's really embarrassing to fail like this I have people close to me say "Well maybe this isn't for you", or things like that. I feel really stupid failing again I just don't know anymore. I eventually want to go for the RN but it is taking me a little longer than most. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Kim

Most of my class ended up with 85 questions...one had 88 and another had 90. But one classmate had 205 questions....we all passed. If you go all the way to 205, it just depends on the complexity of the question and if you get it correct. I have read even if you get it right, you can still fail if it is below competency. But you have a great shot of passing because the computer let you keep going. Try the 'trick'...you will have your answer then.

Good luck. :)

Hang in there. Its not an easy test. Dont give up. It will be worth it in the end.

I took the Kaplan prep, then for 10 days I studied like it was a job. Woke up to an alarm, ate ,sat down to take a Kaplan exam, then reviewed each question and the content of that question. You can do it.

Yes Lpn who didn't pass can sit for cna test , but hospitals usually hired wlo the cna , they just use your clinical experience. And home care places hire home health aids wl clinical experience. I myself failed twice , at first I gave up but then a nurse I work wl told me her struggle and got me back on board for my Lpn . So I hired a tutor , have Kaplan q bank , the lacharity book everyone praises , and the mosby med flash cards. I'm debating on doing the nsbc or whatever , but I been hearing more good than bad. Wish I had someone to study wl but all my class either passed or decided not to take it and just go for RN , beat wishes , don't give up just make it motivation ! Imma do Kaplan Til I'm getting 90's , that was a suggestion . Imma know lab values in my sleep !! God got you , he just wasn't ready for you to be a nurse yet ? Just like me
