Do I have to take the NCLEX in the state I attended school?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I know I have seen this question in various forms, but my specific question I haven't seen anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone had an answer for me. I am currently a nursing student in Alabama, but I'm not sure that I will be working in Alabama after school. My fiance is in the military so I will probably be moving to wherever he is at that time. My question about the NCLEX is do I have to take it in the state in which I attended school? I still plan to try to get my lisence in Alabama, but also get lisenced wherever we will be as well. What I have seen is that to get lisenced in another state you have to submit proof of lisensure in the state you are currently in, but I wasn't sure if I could get lisenced in 2 state at the same time or if I had to get one, and then get the other. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks a ton!

you take any states as long as you comply with the requirments, and even if you take the alabam you can endorse it aftwards. goodluck

As long as you meet state requirements you can hold several active licenses

Thanks. Sometimes I just feel like I have no idea what to do or what is going on.
