Do I have to take the NCLEX in the state I attended school?

  1. 0 I know I have seen this question in various forms, but my specific question I haven't seen anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone had an answer for me. I am currently a nursing student in Alabama, but I'm not sure that I will be working in Alabama after school. My fiance is in the military so I will probably be moving to wherever he is at that time. My question about the NCLEX is do I have to take it in the state in which I attended school? I still plan to try to get my lisence in Alabama, but also get lisenced wherever we will be as well. What I have seen is that to get lisenced in another state you have to submit proof of lisensure in the state you are currently in, but I wasn't sure if I could get lisenced in 2 state at the same time or if I had to get one, and then get the other. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks a ton!

As long as you meet state requirements you can hold several active licenses

Thanks. Sometimes I just feel like I have no idea what to do or what is going on.
