Bad pop up :(, PVT still works right?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

265 questions. Wondering if I was in the right room. Used Saunders (the evolve online thing with 5200 questions) and NCLEX Mastery App. Mastery app kept me in the game, but didn't really help me get those real tough priority/infection control questions.

I put in my real credit card info (Which has about enough money in it to buy a small bag of chips) and I got the bad pop up.. said my card was declined and to contact my bank or something. I failed my nclex and I was given a friendly reminder that I am also financially unstable.

I knew when I walked out I failed, but here in Ontario we have to wait for results to come in the mail (no quick results). Anybody getting the bad pop up and still passing? I read pretty much everywhere and I'm just seeing people doing the trick wrong or becoming the 1/100. Trying to remove hope so I can start studying using Uworld

:(:(:(

I hope it's wrong, have faith theirs still a chance you passed. I am waiting for my ATT number so I can take the nclex also.

Thanks I really appreciate it, Goodluck on your exam!!

Well you don't know for sure yet if you passed or not... but in the case that you did fail I do have 2 suggestions.

1) UWORLD! Got 75 questions on my NCLEX and all 75 questions were talked about on UWORLD.

2) For infection precautions... have you tried memorizing the popular mnemonic that everyone uses? (example : Airborne - My Chicken Hez Tb)

Also to answer your question, there have a been a lot of threads about people gettin the "bad pop up" and still passing so don't lose hope yet!! good luck

Yes, I've already (its open in the other tab right now) started using UWorld. I'm going to do about 75 a day until I can re-register in 45 days. Do you think that should be sufficient? I'll probably have enough time to do all 1800 and maybe repeat the ones I got wrong by that time.

As for infection precautions, great idea! I'll definitely utilize some mnemonics (my nclex mastery app has a bunch). I blanked out during the exam on these and the nclex definitely saw this and punished me real good.

Thanks!

As for anyone frantically searching about getting the bad pop up and wondering if it still works I'll post when I get my results in the mail. Sorry to keep you frantically searching but one thing is for sure, there definitely is reason to believe more than likely its not a good sign :(:(

Someone just posted a few days ago stating that they got the bad pop up and passed. Don't give up just yet

I hate to say it but it works, at least for me and 7 of my friends within the last week, the individual stating that she passed and got a bad pop up, got a bad pop up because she put in an expired card, the card has to be valid, it works with insufficient funds (tries to run the card) but not a fake number or expired card because the computer is able to pick up on that prior to having to run the card so it will decline the card without actually trying to ever take the funds because it isn't valid, it does not work at times if individuals try it to early either however its usually a false positive rather then a false negative, if that makes sense. (In other words yes some people say they got a bad pop up and pass but unfortunately the majority of them are just doing it incorrectly) I am in the same spot you are, 265 questions and over 4 hours and I failed on Monday :( I know it's not easy and you still have hope so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you but if you did not pass just remember it was the best case scenario for failing and you had to have been close or we would not have kept getting more questions :)

Awehh Thanks Dana, at least we're not alone. Your situation is exactly the same as mine lol. Over 4 hours, 265 questions. After these few days that have passed I kind of just came to terms with it. Already started studying. We're getting it next time for sure!

I feel your pain. I am one of those 265 er's too. It was brutal! Harder than I expected. I should get my quick results by June 19th. Took my test Friday June 17th. I did the PVT and got the good pop up an hour after the test and 24 hours later but still don't know how I feel about it because I totally feel like I bombed it. My eyes and brain glazed over at about 140. The waiting sucks.

I did not want to seem like the downer but I personally wasted 4 days not studying, one if which was even after seeing that my graduate nurses license expired in hopes that just maybe i passed and it was wrong, once I finally aka yesterday lol realized that I had to accept it and know I'm far from alone I was able to put together a study guide and say I'm kicking the NCLEXs butt next time! waiting for my new att and counting down the days til I can test again as I do questions and study! Good luck to everyone if they have to take it again!!
