Average Scores on Kaplan Question Trainers and Qbank and Passed NCLEX 1/18/2013

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Greetings my fellow Colleagues,

I'm brand new to this website and to be honest, I found the social network literally this week while I was freaking out over my NCLEX which was scheduled 1/17/2013. Not only did I find some relief from everyone's words of encouragement but I was trying to compare my scores on Kaplan's QTs and Qbanks to everyone else's and it seemed like I had so-so scores so I was realllllly worried about failing since this was my second time taking it. Anyway, I prayed and told God that if I passed, I'd join allnurses.com and release my kaplan QT scores and my status of the exam to hopefully ease someone's stress who might be experiencing similar anxieties as I had just a few nights ago. So here are my scores as followed:

Diagnostic: 54

QT 1 48

QT 2 57

QT 3 55

QT 4 55

QT 5 54

QT 6 55

QT 7 57

Readiness 61

Qbank 56% used 23% of content

So as you can see, my scores for Kaplan were pretty bad, but I took the exam yesterday, ended with 170 questions and passed! I tried the Pearsonvue trick last night and got the good popup. I was still pretty skeptical but I'll be honest, it did relieve some of my anxiety. I decided to sign into my BON website and found out that I had passed this morning! So don't stress over average scores on Kaplan, you can still do it! Good luck to you all! =]

Ok, I just wanted to share with anyone that is reading and looking for any type of relief or reassurances. I have now completed all of my Kaplan review work. I have successfully taken all of the QT tests, I have taken roughly 25% of the QBank with 54% scoring. My testing scores are as follows:

Diagnostic: 63

QT1: 61

QT2: 55

QT3: 59

QT4: 50

QT5: 57

QT6: 56

QT7: 60

My readiness test is a 62 and I am taking my boards on Monday, February 10th 2014 @ 8a.m.

Plan is tomorrow to finish up as many of the QBank questions as I can and finalize myself for Monday's test. It's go time! Wish me luck. Good luck to everyone out there that is using these posts as a "helper" tool! I only know they've given me a sigh of relief. Especially when I read that someone else, who has shared my struggle, posts a passing result! Good luck and good night!

Also, I don't know if this link is valid or helpful in determining where you stand, but I used it and think I am in good shape if it's accurate!

Best of luck to you!

Just an update, if the trick is any consolation as to the performance we have, I will be retesting for the NCLEX. Shut off in 102 questions, but when I got home, I was able to register again. I do not think I passed, but I will not let that stop me from passing the boards! I will be reposting when I get another date and subsequently pass this test! Until I get the final result of "pass", I will not faulter!!!!

I hope you passed Riddler!!! I was wondering if you could update us?

Hi all- seeing these posting really helped so wanted to add mine- I thought Kaplan was more difficult than NCLEX in some ways...! the NCLEX qs were much more straight forward. I had 17 select all, an ordered response and an exhibit/chart q. The select all questions on NCLEX are much easier than the Kaplan "alternate quiz type" so dont let that freak you out.

My Kaplan scores were as follows...

q trainers: 55, 57, 60, 64, 57, 58, 60 and got 66 on diagnostic and readiness.

STAYING CALM was the best thing I did in addition to 75% of q bank qs with an average of 60%. DO read all rationales for every question you do. Look for patterns like knowing that DI & brain injury often go together or SIADH & lung cancer, TPN- check glucose... good luck I passed in 75!

Gotta'LoveNurses, I did not pass. I actually had 2 things happen at the testing center that stressed me out and caused me anxiety. One thing that happened, they told me, NO GUM! That's my go to calming agent to help me concentrate. After the "no gum" incident, I began getting anxious and I rushed through my test. I actually took 109 questions in 1 hour and 22 minutes. To give you an idea of how nervous I was. Anyway, in 45 days and another run at Kaplan practice tests, I will be giving it another go. Will let you all know how it goes.

Ok, I wanted to update you guys on how I have been coming along, since my last attempt was a failure on the boards. I took a content review class and actually got a refund from Kaplan. I don't know why I did not personally find Kaplan useful, but after taking the boards today, April 1,2014, I tried to do the "trick" and from what it looks like, I passed in 75 questions. I am not counting my chickens before they hatch, but I wanted to share with you that tracked and followed me during my journey and thank all of you for your posts. Fingers crossed!!!!!!

I just found it extremely coincidental how @rivsemaj109 is taking it May 5, I'm taking it May 6, and @munkeyann is taking it May 7. Our posts are consecutively ordered too LOL. I think this is good luck! HAHA

lol, @ rivsemaj109 and @moychiii, lets us all pass the exam hehehe. I will be posting my experience on here after that day.
