Is any one heard about change on NCLEX on april 1 2014 for RN 's ?

Got curious because what I know for RNs passing standard that they implemented last year is until 2016. I checked the website, is this the one you're referring?

"In December 2013, the NCSBN Board of Directors voted to raise the NCLEX-PN passing standard. The passing standard will be changed from -0.27 to -0.21 logits beginning April 1, 2014 with the implementation of the 2014 NCLEX-PN Test Plan. The new standard will be effective through March 31, 2017."

It's for PNs.

NCLEX-RN changed/was updated last April. NCLEX-PN was last updated April 1, 2011 and will be updated again April 1, 2014. Each exam is updated every 3 years.

NCSBN website was mentioning about the change on the NCLEX examination on their website. It suppose to change on 04/01/2014 , they already the changed the NCLEX -PN .

Are you really asking, "The NCLEX exam is so difficult now, will I even be able to pass it after the standard gets raised?"

The answer is YES! Raising the standard doesn't mean that the exam suddenly gets super difficult. It is a small, incremental change. I think that people on AN tend to give a false impression that the NCLEX exam is impossible to pass because they see threads with titles like, "failed 4 times." Remember that the bulk of test-takers pass the first time. Remember that most of them do not post that success on AN. And, IMHO, some of the people who do fail the NCLEX exam should have done themselves a favor and not read all the negative NCLEX posts on AN because they only serve to raise their anxiety about the test!

80-85% of US educated nurses pass the NCLEX-RN & NCLEX-PN on first attempt. Even after the passing standard was raised, the statistics remained the same.

Unfortunately only 30-35% of internationally educated nurses pass the NCLEX-RN/PN on first attempt. This may be due to educational issues, cultural differences, language barriers or even as simple as a nurse educated overseas is trained to the practice standards of that country not trained to practice as a US nurse.

If you are a US educated nurse the odds are 4:5 in your favor of passing.

Just my two cents.. We were told that the exam didn't necessarily get harder.. The passing standard was raised meaning that the grade needed to pass is higher essentially. For example, if your nursing school changed from 76% considered passing to now 80% considered passing. The school didn't get harder, the passing standard was raised. Feel free to correct me guys if I'm wrong.
