A&P on NCLEX?

I've seen several references to A&P on the NCLEX.

I realize you can't give actual questions, but can anyone give an example as to how knowledge of A&P is needed?

I know it can't be as simple as the trachea is superior to the gluteus maximus T or F...lol

So, how is the knowledge of A&P tested?

You need that in order to answer "correct position" questions.

A&P is your knowledge base which is absolutely imperative.

I had a question ...somewhere...not saying from the NCLEX...might have been from a pre-test...but anyway....about ileal conduits and the care of said intervention. It was necessary for me to know basic anatomy of the GU system so I could effectively take care of patient and be alert for complications. I dont remember having any straight forward questions..like "trace the blood flow through the heart" type, but I only had 75 questions.

??? OK, is it questions such as a scenerio is given, then the question will ask where do you palpatate the patient?....where do you stick the whatever? .....what could possibly be hurting?

I made A's in A&P 1 and A&P 2, actually finished A&P 1 with 101%. I'm not worried about not knowing where something is, I'm just wondering how a question would be worded...

Example: The pre-op enema is ordered. How will you position the pt?

Some of the 'alternate-type' questions show a diagram and you have to mark a specific area on the body in answer to the question. For example, it might ask you to mark the area where you would auscultate for heart rate.
