I just took my NCLEX-RN for the 2nd time on the 14th with 265 questions and found out friday that i failed, again. It took my 5 hours & i didn't take any breaks because I didn't want to lose focus. I'm not sure how I actually did because i haven't gotten my paperwork from the state with the breakdown on it yet but I'm hoping it's at least better than last time.

now I have to wait, what 90 days, to retake it again? does anyone know if that is correct?

I am thinking about taking the kaplan review course or maybe doing Suzanne's review. At this point I'm just not sure but I know I have to set aside a specific time period for studying and make it almost like a job. It's frustrating and humilitating failing it twice but I'm not giving up!!!

Each state has either 45 days or 90 days so a lot will depend on state. Sorry you failed but hang in and good luck for next time

I would be happy to get 265 questions, if a few days later I also got the news that I passed.

    Hello Mandycat,

I am so thankful for people that share stories that encourage people. I lost my mom at 16, and she didn't get to see all the hard work I put into nursing school, but I am confident somehow she knows. I wish you the best! I took my NCLEX today and had 265 questions. I haven't cried yet, because I feel there is still hope.

Why is it that the way the NCLEX works as far as the number of questions is an UNENDING thread on one place or another on here at any given time. I don't get it. Do the people at all these schools not explain how the whole thing works to nursing students......cause lord knows there have been enough threads here explaining the whole thing! ---- The number of questions has nothing to do with passing or failing nor does getting every single question-- all three hundred and what ever it is....forget now but it's been almost 6 years....just had to say that.........but CONGRATS to anyone that passes--

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but back in early june 2008 i had 265 and failed, i do feel like most people that take 265 will indeed pass, i can remember getting questions wrong because i was just ready to go. i was in ther for far too long, i have add so i am not good at long time frames of boredom

if i can suggest, take breaks! take a break if the test does not stop at 75, then take a break every 50 questions after that

the second time i took the test i passed with 75 questions in like 45 minutes

keep you nerves in check, thats what cost me

It's nice to see all the people that passed with 265 questions... unfortunately I was not one of them, I thought I'd let you know, I am not too sad though, beacuse as I read I am really close to passing, thinking about following Suzan's plan, and take the exam again in 45 days, wich me luck. I am not going to giveup until I am a RN!

Hey Guys! Yeah I took it on Monday afternoon and got all 265 questions. Had tons of priority questions and med questions toward the end and the last question was a intervention question for a psych disorder...seemed a lower level question....what does this mean? I am so confused and freaking out...I really am hoping for a hope and a prayer right now to see a lincense number by my name on the MN board of nursing website....good luck to all and hope you all pass....

    Future RN's
I took the NCLEX Friday, 2 days ago. I sat through all 265 questions. It was torture. And none of the questions made any sense to me! So unrealistic! I was sure that by number 85 my test would turn off like all of my classmates said theirs had, but no! It got to 100, then 125, then 150. Finally at 200 I realized I was going to have to answer them all. I was shaking and felt I would vomit at any minute, I had to pray to keep from just leaving the testing center! I did not eat the rest of the day even though I was starving, I could not sleep. I didn't know anyone else that had gotten all those questions.

But when I started to calm down about 35 hours later I realized that there was nothing more I could have done. If you have made it through nursing school, finals, and exit exams then you know your stuff! So think of it that way. You did not get this far by guessing, and even though you feel like you know none of the drugs on the test, like me, and none of the scenarios make sense, you know your stuff. So just remember that you ARE a nurse!!
I checked my grade today, PASS!
