I was originally going to do the associates program at SWIC, but decided I would be more valuable with a BSN. So I applied there but didn't follow through with the testing etc. So I just contacted an advisor at Goldfarb and found out what I needed to take otherwise and applied and got in. Sooooo Nervous! I did check out SLU but they had wait lists too. And plus Goldfarb's simlab is ranked top in the NATION! So....:yeah:
I got on the wait list for the SPRING 2011 term, at 54 and made it all the way to 10 and had to wait till summer. If 50 people have to move out of you way it's not likely you'll be able to start. Because once those students get in they are probably like you, and not going to give up their spot. I don't know what program you applied for UPPR or ACL? but I think the upp division take 83 students??? I may be wrong. But hypothetically let's say it is 83, of those 83 that applied and accepted it's not likely for one that 50 of them are going to have life circumstances happen or they didn't finish their prereq's etc. I would have to say that if 50 were not able to start for whatever reason that atleast 33 of the orginials would get their act together and start. I hope that makes since. i am in a hurry. Good luck, and I hope you can start. I emailed misty every week to check my number! so I know how exciting and frustrating the wait can be. Don't worry you'll get there-so enjoy your free time now. i just finished my 1st week!
Katie,
I am in the accelerated program and you are correct, take advantage of your free time. I would highly recommend getting exposure to the nursing field if you have not had any at all -volunteer, or try getting a tech job (but you would have to think about if you want to hold this job while in school, as it's a rigorous program). Also as far as the wait list, I played that game for awhile, and being in the fifties is a high number - you may want to go ahead and have a plan laid out until the next term. But I think you're guaranteed a spot in December, correct? Congrats on getting in!
I'm happy to answer any other specific questions if you guys can think of them. I just briefly saw Katie's post and responded to it.

I start at Barnes Jewish College, Upper Bsn in 2 months. Just checking if anyone has been or is currently attending to see what they think about it, advise and what not? Thanks in advance! Cheers.
