Southwest MO graduate here from May 06. Working at the Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield. Not quite what you concentrate on in nursing school, but EXACTLY what I was looking for!!
Hello! I am a nursing student, Springfield area. Last weekend in St. Louis at the Student Nurses Convention we were talking about working in jails/prisons. My instructor wasn't familiar with it, but several years ago my family use to take babies from our local prison (SoCa) and temporarily raise them. We also were a part of a M2 ministry. So how do you like your work there? Thank you. Winona

Hi, everyone. I live in SWMO and will begin my pre-req's at St. John's in Springfield in January. I'm hopeful to then be accepted into the nursing program in spring '08. I nearly went to nursing school right out of high school (22 years ago.....) and feel so excited that the calling for this profession never left me. I look forward to visiting here often and talking with you all. Rich

Good luck, Rich, and I wish you all the best. Your school is a great school! Have I met you? I think maybe so. I am in the ASN program at another school in Springfield. (Don't think we're suppose to mention names...) Take care and keep in touch! Winona
