Cox Hospital Graduate Intern (Springfield, MO)

U.S.A. Missouri

Does anyone know how these graduate intern positions work? I read on their website that they offer the grad intern program in January and July, and I was wondering if the grad intern positions are currently for the program in July, or are these positions something you're just directly hired into when you apply? I'm graduating in May and plan on moving back to Springfield to work.

I did the graduate nurse program last year. I believe the jobs you see are for May graduates...even though they are hiring now. If you get accepted as GNI you spend 3-6 months (depending on the floor) training until you are on your own. For the first couple months, each week you have a mixture of working on your floor along with taking required classes. After the classes are over, then you just spend the rest of your internship being trained on the floor until you are ready to work on your own for that department.

So happy to be offered a job. Now I just have to pass nclex :)

Did you pass NCLEX and get the position? I know this is a late post, but I am just curious how it went.

Yes everyone in my class passed the first time they took the NCLEX. I took the position but already moved to California got another position and I graduate from Cox College a year after my ASN with with my BSN on Friday. Good luck to you with whatever program you are in!

That's awesome! Congrats! I am in my 3rd semester of an Associates degree RN program now. Also funny that I am in Ca. and am wanting to work at Cox hospital in Springfield, Mo. Best of luck with everything!!

You will not have any trouble getting a job there and possibly in your dream area. Why are you moving there? If you don't mind me asking...
