  1. Hello, There is no waiting list to get in. You will take a simple Wonderlic test which is a timed test with very basic math/algebra questions. You must score very well on this to get into the program. You will then be scheduled to take the KTP entrance exam. This is more difficult but is not hard if you are good in English. Generally you should score above 90 avg on both the math and English portions of the exam to get accepted. This is the main criteria in which students are accepted. If you are already a CNA and score well you have an excellent chance! Your college gen. ed. classes should transfer so you should not have to retake them here. Good Luck! I would love to hear back from you on your journey! I am already half way done!!
  2. That's awesome! Congrats! I am in my 3rd semester of an Associates degree RN program now. Also funny that I am in Ca. and am wanting to work at Cox hospital in Springfield, Mo. Best of luck with everything!!
  3. Did you pass NCLEX and get the position? I know this is a late post, but I am just curious how it went.
  4. Good luck both of you!
  5. Hey porche803b are you in the sep 2016 grad class?
  6. Thank you so much! On the test I would suggest going through and answering the questions you are confident are correct. The other questions you need take sure you understand exactly what you are being asked first, then read through the passage and extract only the relevant information. Visit khan academy's website and other math help sites for basic math help before you retake the ktp. A general understanding of algebra and fractions is important for this test. Good luck!
  7. Yay! Congrats Porcheb!
  8. The financial workshop is a mandatory meeting with a financial aid representative where you will fill out your fafsa, review prev. Financial aid awards and loans, and complete loan counseling.
  9. Hello Junebug. I am a new medical assistant with no nursing experience. I believe there is a 30% discount for veterans but I am not sure about dependents. If you have already completed some college courses that may make your first year a bit easier since you will not need to retake the basic courses. I am not sure yet about the daily schedule but I know your job must be flexible as you cannot and should not miss any clinicals. Thanks 4GVN!
  10. I got accepted! Just found out today. Anyone else here?
  11. I hear you...I just missed the first as well.
  12. Hello, I graduated from the MA program at Kaplan and applied for the ADN program this September. I should find out this next week or two if I will get accepted. Hopefully you have already tested on the KTP and the Wonderlic because the deadline is 07/14. I too got the pre-nursing book at barnes and noble before I tested and it may have helped a bit. Good luck!
  13. I did not study for the reading section but if if this is a difficult subject for you than try reading a college level literature book just brush up a little on vocab. Inference understanding is best gained by reading books over time.
  14. The reading is all about inference. Read the passage then the questions and answer according to what the author is trying to convey.
  15. Hello all! Anybody here applying for the September ADN program at Kaplan in San Diego? I scored 32 on the Wonderlic, and 91 overall on the KTP test. I think thats pretty good.. I recently completed the M.A. program at Kaplan to gain a little experience, and I am anxious to be accepted. Congrats to all the students accepted in May!
