Hi...we are moving to MI this summer, probably around Pontiac. Can anyone tell me about pay, perks, etc? I've been a nurse for 20 years and am making 25.50 base here in OK. Thanks.

A friend of mine just hired in at St Jo Mercy in pontiac. she works float, sat-mon (12's). so she works 36 hours per week but gets paid for 40. she makes 35.70 base plus 10% shift differential. and she just graduated in AUg 2005. she really likes it there. I have not heard good things about POH. in fact heard a rumor at my hospital that it was closing.

I worked years at St. Joes, and loved it. (Agency)

Gosh I hope nurses around here make more money than $25! I make $24 as a Respiratory Therapist. I'd hate to assume all this debt just to make a smidge more than I do now.

My friend works at Genesys Hospital near Flint (or it might be in Flint?) and she makes about $25 per hour.

Well I think it depends. I know that alot of the agency nurses make like $40/hr. I work at St. Joseph Mercy which is in Pontiac. I also live in Pontiac. I work Contingent but pickup an few extra shifts because they are always short. I make $36.25/hr plus 10% shift diff. I also work agency when possible. Keep in contact, I also live in Pontiac, maybe I can be a contact for you if you need any help getting ajusted.

Google UMPNC for the UM contract and then click on payscale, we going into schedule D, most nurses will fall into level "B" So you should have some idea of how much UM pays.
