Are you looking for an accredited program by the NLNAC or just any LPN program? According to the NLNAC website the only LPN program accredited in Michigan is at Grand Rapids Community College. I know they have a 5 year waiting list for their RN program so I assume the wait for the LPN program is long also.

Delta College has a Lpn program. I waited one year before I could get in. Good Luck. Delta College is located in the Midland/BayCity/Saginaw area

Oakland Community College also has an accredited LPN program.

Most of the Community Colleges and University in Michigan has a long waiting list. Some schools have no waiting list but then one must obtain a cetain high standard of grade pluS the point system style.

There are two vocanational/techincal school with no waiting list but then again one must take entrance test .

1.Olympia Career Institute in Grand Rapids. LPN is one year and half.

2. American Medical Careers ( Newly open LPN Program for one year in Flint...Only 30 students for this class.

( Genesee CNA Academy).

I tried applying and inquiring other schools from other state, to my surprise there are too many LPN Programs for as short as 9 to 10 months time. no waiting list and not to mention way cheaper. Even if i rent a room for 400 a month still i will save....Ill be joining this fall , i am excited and nervous at the same time.

In Southwest Michigan there is Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, and Southwestern College that have LPN programs, don't know if they are accredited but we have LPNs and RNs from their programs at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, so they probably are. Check them out online. Where are you located?

Davenport University in Midland used to have LPN, not sure about now.

Call the Michigan BON and ask what they think about the American Medical Careers LPN program. I did and they strongly advised me to look at another avenue. The feeling I got after our conversation was that they felt this program will have a lot of obstacles to get to the accredidating state as well as having a good chance for failure. I went to the Flint school and they gave me conflicting information as I also attended the open house in March. The open house stated an April 30 start date, Ms Sweeney at the school said she did not feel they would start until July. That is way to much time to "wait and see". The cost of this program is around 21,000, which would be a lot to gamble with.

When i was researching about approved LPN schools in Michigan for LPN through Michigan State Board...I found out that Amercian Medical Careers was granted to have an LPN Program. It mentioned that it will start this April, I called right away and the Program will at theri Flint Campus and becasue it is new they only got my name and address.....After few weeks i got a letter of invitation to attend to their open house...In the flyer they mentioned only 30 students will be accepted....

I attended St. Clair county Community College. They have a campus in the Pt. Huron and Bad Axe (the thumb) area. I attended the Bad Axe campus. Tough program but very good. Full time attendance only in Bad Axe. Can go part time in Pt. Huron. They have website---www.sc4.edu My class of 2005 started with 30 and finished with 27. All of us passed the board on the first shot. Excellent instructors.
