ATT...anyone?

U.S.A. Michigan

Has anyone in MI received there ATT yet? I just graduated from HFCC in May and was wondering if anyone heard anything yet. Thanks.

When were the mass interviews? I would say that if they're going to interview you, then there are still jobs left. I haven't looked at their web site lately, but some of the jobs I applied for are "on hold" according to my application status. Most of them the recruiter said I wasn't qualified for because I don't have health care experience.

Anyway, when I got the call from HR, I had a phone interview by Friday of that week, a manager contacted me the following Monday, I interviewed with her that Weds, and they made me an offer by Friday. It happened very quickly.

Good luck on the phone interview. It is very, very basic and she will ask you very general questions about previous work experience - how you got along with people, how you manage stress, things like that.

By the way, at HF, for the nurse intern position, you can't have license yet, and they expect to pass the NCLEX within 60 days. So if you get an offer, don't take your NCLEX before you start. I was hoping I could do that and get it out of the way, but the recruiter said not to - that they wouldn't be able to hire me as a intern and there are no positions for RNs with no experience!

So I guess I'm glad I didn't get my ATT before I figured that out!

Oh that's good to know! I was called about 1 week ago to set up the interview. They set it up for 3 weeks from that date! I was hoping that it would be sooner but I have to wait! I am still waiting for my ATT but should get it soon I hope. But that is good to know about the test timing.

That sounds like a great unit. (we did a lot of vents in one of my clinical rotations...not fun) I don't have any extern experience, and I know I am very lucky to have even gotten an interview - out of dozens of applications and all of the job fairs I only managed to get two. It seems like most hospitals are not hiring any new grads. Most of the classmates I know that do have jobs were working throughout school.

I will be starting at Henry Ford downtown on a internal med unit with their intern program.

Good luck at Oakwood!

Well u must have made a good first impression! CONGRATS! :yeah: I think I applied for that job too! But the good thing is HFCC grads are considered good candidates as GN's bc of our strong program! Gosh, I do not miss school at all! But I am waiting for my ATT! Is is ever going to get here?!

Thanks - I went to Schoolcraft, though. Personally, (and don't tell any of MY instructors this), but I think all of the community colleges in this area have good programs. At least that is the feedback I have received.

I stalk my mailbox too!

I agree! The talent pool is pretty thick in this area! Congrats and best wishes to you. I just completed my 1st week as a graduate nurse and I am still excited!! (WCCCD grad here!)

CC nursing programs rock! (Not that BSN's don't!) We get hit with alot of info in a 2 yr period and we sit for the same NCLEX as BSN's so..... And I am glad to know that WC3 has a good program as well. People really bashed it and it has made a strong comeback. Take pride in your school!

Thanks, all schools have there issues but know that I received an excellent education. Especially, after being in orientation this week and seeing that I am doing quite well and holding my own with my peers from or CC or univesities. I've been working in health care for over 15 years and throughout my career whenever I have worked with a WCCCD grad, they have been some of the most thorough and safe nurses to work with. I never listened to the negative things people said about our school because the semester that I was accepted into the program, WCCCD had television commericials boasting our 100% NCLEX pass rate. And I don't know the exact number now but it is still pretty high. Also I find that the bashing either comes from people who have been kicked out of the program, people that could not get accepted to the program or those that have a problem with anything affiliated with Detroit in any shape, form or fashion . Congrats to all of you and by the way, I am still waiting on my ATT (didn't mean to hijack the thread, lol).

Mine went through normal email but you never know. I did send all my stuff in super early though! On April 14th (the day I got the information at school ha) So maybe they are going down a list and you will get yours soon too!
