I hear alot of talk about all of these other schools, but no one ever mentions St. Clair County COmmunity College!! Anyone else besides me attending Nursing School there this fall? Well, we start Aug. 27th, anyone else excited? I am !

ill be going there next year right now im taking some other classes that go with the program

Are you in the LPN program? I found out that I am #1 on the waiting list. I was so disappointed when I found out. I wish you luck!! Keep us informed on your first day of school.

I thought SC4 didn't have a waiting list? How does there admission work?

They don't have a year to year waitlist. They put people on a waitlist to fill the spots of the people who drop before the program starts. Once the program starts, they drop the waitlist and everyone who didn't get in can just reapply next year.

Oh, I am working on my ADN, not LPN.

How is nursing school going? Do you remember what your Hesi score is. I took it last week and got a 86% I only have A & P 1 & 2 done and Psychology. I pray that i get into the fall program.

I'm applying for Fall 08' as well. I completed 8 of 9 pre-reqs with a 4.0 and got a 92.32% on the HESI. I feel good about my scores, but I too would love to know where I stand (which I'm sure I'll never really know). I know that gpa is 40pts and the 9 courses are 45pts, so that would give me 80/85=94% and a HESI of 92%. So if they are looking for an overall average, that would put me at 93%. I just wish I knew my rank with that percentage.

Talking to others on campus, I've learned that many students are doing really well and the competition is probably higher than that of last years group. My guess is that a gpa of 3.7 or higher (in at least 5 or 6 of those 9 courses) and a HESI score of 85% or better may be near the cutoff. Of course, this is just an assumption on my part; based only on what I have seen or heard.

I also believe that 30 of the 120 accepted will be those who have transfered, and the remaining 90 will come from the PH, Bad Axe, and Algonac divisions of SC4, and possibly some high school students. Again, this is only what I have heard discussed on campus by other students.

Well I would say you are definintely getting in!! I went to my mandatory advising session on Tuesday. She was telling us the cutoff application deadline is January 15th. I went on January 8th and as of that date only two hundred people had taken their Hesi (which you need in order to apply to the program). I would say that is a good sign as far as keeping the applicant pool to a minimum. I know a lot of the have probably taken the test since Tuesday, but still, 200 is not a lot of people. She also said that out of the applicants that are accepted into the program 1/3 do not accept. So that also sounds promising. Good luck to you. I am sure you will be one of those ones at the top of the acceptance list!!!

Wow! That's incredible. I expected there would be well over a thousand applicants! Although, there are some later testing dates that run after the application deadline, so maybe everyone is holding out until the last minute. Interesting!
