hello. i am attending hfcc. i am not in the nursing program yet, but i have been on the waiting list since last august. hoping to enter the program this fall or for sure the winter semester. so let me know exactly what you wanted to know if general info about the waiting of the program or what pre req

Yes I got accepted for this upcoming Fall but postponing until next Fall. I was on the wait list for 1 year. What info would you like to know? Have you done an application, on the wait list or considering this school, etc.

Hi . Just curious when did you get your name on the wait list. I did not know you could postpone it? I had my name put on Aug 30th and found out they reached up till Aug 17(06) I was just 2 weeks away. I guess I will be attending the Winter start program. Have you thought about that program the winter one.

I got on the list 5/12/05. Yes you can postpone for 1 year and then you go to bottom of the list. Do u have the other 6 pre-req's completed to get acceptance letter? Also, please complete co-req's while waiting; in the orientation letter I got, it strongly advised to only have nursing classes as those who don't tend to be unsuccessful. That is one reason I put off until Fall 07 cuz i have 2 classes left.

The winter semester goes all year round as you meet up the with Fall students in the second year. My friend who graduated said you definitely need a break so truly ponder if u want to start in the winter.

If you have any questions regarding your situation contact Michelle or Lorraine in counseling. There are a lot of rumors that go around so best to be informed about your case then be uninformed.:clown:

They take 200 in the fall and 60 in the winter. i am scared, this program is HARD!

Thanks for the info. I am totally scared also. I have finished all the pre-reqs required so when I enter the program I will only have the nursing classes. Since I am waiting and need all the extra help I can get I signed up for NSG 285 Pathophysiology and Medical Terminlogy for Fall semester. I am very nervous to start the program. I have two children(boys) 11 and 7 so I just feel it's going to be even harder. Good luck to you also!!!

Hi. Oh I just finished NSG 285 Patho at HFCC. I also ran out of prereq's while waiting so I decieded to take it. I'm glad I did, cause they say it'll give you an idea of what the program and their tests are like. But I am set to start the program in Aug 08'. So nervous cause I hear that the program is SOOOO HARD! I'm actually scared and can't even relax to enjoy my summer! I have five kids, ages 3,5,7,10,12. So I think You'll do fine. Just study/read the topics in the modules that they focus on. Otherwise you will over-study, and never be able to keep up with the reading. Good Luck!!

I am starting at clinicals at Mott in Sept. 08. I feel encouraged to have read your post and know i'm not the only one scared. I have 4 kids. 10, 8, 4 ,and 11 months. Good luck to you.

You know how I calm myself down, I say just take it one day and one test at a time!!! Don't look to far down the tunnel. You won't see the light and that is scary. Just take it one step at a time. At the same time, You must PLAN AHEAD. If that means daycare, supplies, frozen foods, saving money, refreshing on math, etc. Try to set things up ahead of time, so that you have more time later to worry about the actual program..That might even mean that your 8 & 10 yr old should take on some extra chores so that they could relieve you when you need it most. Sometimes it's those little things that get in the way of our study time, or rest. I think you will do fine. Mom's are really good at multi-tasking, and work better under pressure. It's the anxiety that builds up in anticipation of actually starting the program, not to mention the horror stories the RN grad's are telling us!!

Anyways, stay positive!!:up:
