manly scrub top protocol...

Nurses Men

So is there any. The scrub tops with the two pockets at the front hem seem way more practical, but is that style considered girlie? Do most guys wear scrub tops with the single breast pocket? Or am i just imagining things? Thoughts??

Thanks,

aaron

I prefer the sleeveless wife beater T from Wal-Mart and some Camo bottoms.

3 pocket tops and landau cargo scrub pants

Always dark blue/black...

Dress has only 2 uses: protection from the environment, and sending social signals (which means either adding to or detracting from your credibility). I never wear scrubs.

When I got on my floor, there was 1 male nurse and he wore "doctor casual"--a polo and Dockers. Seeing the benefits, I asked the Boss Lady if I could do likewise. She said OK.

Now that nurse wore various colors. Because it works best, I wear only a heavy cotton navy polo and British khaki Dockers. Black shoes, black belt. I carry my scope around my neck and scissors in my pocket. That's it.

Pts call me Doc even though they know I'm a nurse. I have less trouble getting pt compliance, probably the least on my floor. Most docs treat me like a doc. YMMV, but it works for me.

I loved the Landau pants with the belt loops, but they don't come in wine, which I am required to wear. WHY, LANDAU? WHY?

i think a sleeveless tee shirt or better yet a stained wife beater shirt will be very comfortable.

Not in royal blue, either, but I'm allowed to wear white, so I do. Not as see-thru as some other brands, although I avoid garish boxers. I was wearing the Landau zip-front tops, but switched to Cherokee. Different brands have different royals, but if you're pairing them with white, it doesn't matter.

I really liked Crest, but can't get them anymore. Their pants didn't have belt loops, though. Didn't find any until the Landau 7-pockets, although I've heard some Dickies have belt loops. It's an issue for me since my six-pack became a keg (okay...it was always a keg) and I had to wear suspenders, especially after my pockets get full. The zip-fronts make going to the bathroom a lot easier when you're wearing suspenders. And I like the way they look--been complimented a few times on my "manly" uniform.

Landau 5 pocket top with Dickie I-forget-how-many pocket pants(the ones with belt loops, elastic, and a drawstring). Only Navy blue per facility policy, but I would definitely break out the camo stuff if I could.
