  1. University of Minnesota, Entry MSN 2016

Hey everyone, I'm glad people have been finding this thread so helpful! Now that I'm finally done (woo hoo!) I figured I would finish up where I left off when I wrote at the end of second term, and let you know about the last two terms too. If I reme...

Yeah, that ended up not being enforced at all. In fact, the nurses kept asking us why we all had white shoes!

Nope, you will definitely never wear the optional lab coat. I would recommend 2 pairs of scrubs though. Congrats!

Oh, sorry, maybe I misunderstood your question? Last summer our orientation was on Aug 26 and lasted a half day. I don't think we found out until July though, exactly when it was going to be. I'm guessing it will be something similar for this year.

With the exception of summer term, we follow the same calendar as the rest of the U, so fall 2016 term starts Sept 6 this year. Academic calendars

Thanks bme_rn2b! I'll have to pass that info on. As for our student cohort, if I am remembering correctly, there are 63 of us total. I think that about 10 of us are men and the rest are women. We range in age from about 23 to 45, though I would say t...
  7. University of Minnesota, Entry MSN 2016

Hi bme_rn3b! I am glad my loooong post helped! I may not be the best person to answer about the pros and cons of this program though, as for me, having no intention to move, it was my first choice and the only one I applied to. If you tell me what s...
  8. University of Minnesota, Entry MSN 2016

Hi cokoro11 and brynrawr, I actually do know quite a few students who manage to work part-time through this program (10-15 hours), though as a mom, I am not one of them! And I have owned a home for a while now, so I don't know a lot about the rental...
  9. University of Minnesota, Entry MSN 2016

Congratulations guys! I am a current student nurse in the U of MNs MSN program, and I remember well being in your place one year ago. I know we all had a million questions about what to expect back then, so feel free to ask if you have any. See you a...
  10. Med/Surg Night Shift Poll

For those of you working Med/Surg who would prefer days, how long did it take for you to get a day shift position at your hospital? I've heard it's easier in this role than in others and I'm hoping that's the case! PS, it wouldn't let me add more tha...
  11. Oh my goodness, I feel so silly. I needed to check my U of MN email, not my regular one. So far it's just been lots of emails telling me to get shots so I have mostly been ignoring it!
  12. For other people who have not yet received their registration email, did you just complete your immunizations recently too? Have most people gotten theirs already? Wondering if I should call...
  13. I haven't even gotten my registration email yet so you're ahead of me there! It has been pretty annoying though. Submitted my immunizations over 3 weeks ago and just finally heard back on them yesterday. No idea if I'm missing anything else or not!
  14. So far I have found out that doctor's office printouts that use the Epic system (most do) are fine without a signature, but immunizations from previous enrollments do not count, because non-Health students records can be accepted even if just self-re...
  15. For people who have already gotten their immunizations cleared, do you need an actual doctor's signatures for all of them, or is a print out from the doctor's office okay? Also, what kind of documentation for your MMR did they accept? I have immuniza...
