For those of you working Med/Surg who would prefer days, how long did it take for you to get a day shift position at your hospital? I've heard it's easier in this role than in others and I'm hoping that's the case!

PS, it wouldn't let me add more than 5 poll options. If your case was longer than 3 years, please leave a comment!

I worked for exactly 12 months before being able to transfer to days. I was an exception on my unit though: most people had to wait an average of 3 years (there was a lot of people retiring when I was hired to the turn over was unusual).

I worked night shift for 3 years as a new grad. I only went to day shift because I had a baby. But the average wait was 2 years. I prefer nights. Day shift is way too busy on med surg
