I took the MCC refresher in the fall of 2006 and I'm still currently employed. You do have to find your own clinical placement and preceptor. The refresher helped me to get hired. Good luck.
I took a refresher course. The theory part was online, but then I had clinicals on a pediatric floor. We had to find our own clinical placement, and could choose the area we wanted to work in. I now work on a peds floor, and feel like I haven't be...
I work dayshift 0645 to 1915. I'm part time and work 3 shifts a pay period. One week I work one day, and the next week I work 2. My schedule works great for having three kids at home.

Allheart had some on sale recently so I ordered a couple of tops and a pair of pants to try. I think they are cute, and I've only worn one of the sets once, but so far I like them.
Just wanted to share that there are hospitals out there willing to hire nurses that have been out for awhile. I only worked for just over a year out of school at a children's hospital before becoming a stay at home mom. I was out of the nursing fie...
I work on a peds floor of a community hospital. We are to only have up to 4 pts, though they have given us 5 on occassion when we were understaffed. We sometimes have one PCT for the whole floor which is a 12 bed unit. We don't have a unit clerk, ...

I switched to days a little over a month ago, and I'm really liking it. The pace is faster, but it makes the day go by quick. I also like the fact that I am getting much more sleep and am on a normal schedule again. Good luck with the switch.

I work at JCL DV on the peds floor. I'm not sure what new grads start at, but I'm assuming around mid $20s like most other hospitals. They have a $5.00 an hour night shift diff, and a $1.50 an hour weekend diff. Hope some of that helps.
I also work at JCL DV and the peds floor has been really slow. Mostly people are volunteering to be cancelled or some have been splitting a shift. I haven't been cancelled because I only work 3 shifts a pay period. I have been floated to Mendy's t...
Well, I do have a noterized form relating to my sign on bonus, but I don't think I signed a contract. I do hope they are not trying to "bait and switch" me too, but I don't know. I guess I'll find out more on Monday.
I was recently hired for a PT nights position on a pediatric floor of a community hospital. The nurse recruiter hired me for 2 nights a week or 24 hrs a week. All during my orientation I worked 2 shifts per week. When I finally came off of orientatio...
I've been out for 8 years. I am taking an RN refresher course, and I admit it was difficult at first. When I started my clincal I felt like I was in nursing school or like a new grad. It was overwhelming. I'm about to finish my clincal, and thing...
