About heron

heron has 52 years experience as a ASN, RN and specializes in Hospice.

Born in 1950, I am a widow with one son and two grandchildren (so far ... my son the bunny rabbit!) I grew up in a large, blended, terribly toxic family in rural New England and worked in the Boston area for 30 years before moving to ABQ.

What caught your attention in the world today?

They say that chatbots can hallucinate. Didja hear about the lawyer who was caught using ChatGPT to write a brief and it proceeded to cite cases that didn't exist? Delusion ... or a badly trained bot.

And I respect people who are experienced enough to actually do their jobs, old enough to know the difference between teamwork and lockstep, and smart enough to play chess instead of checkers.

See NrsKarenRN's last post on the election thread.

Your characterization of democrats as "radical" indicates ignorance of the spectrum of American political thought. That's not ad "homien", that's an assessment of your reliability as a source of information. I'm a citizen and voter, I get to do that.

    The election 2024 Thread

How quaint, calling any flavor of democrat "radical". With that much of a knowledge deficit, it's hard to take your pronouncements seriously. TMB is referencing arguments actually made to the appellate courts by Trump's legal team. Don't look no...

    Bingo! Old tactic, old script.

Well ... this American person sees a feeble attempt to replicate the 2015 smear campaign against HRC. It only worked once. Rather than pulling silly pronouncements out of thin air, try to come up with something substantive.

True. A body gets tired of being bullied.

    Patient Death After Shift

I want to second offlabel's remark that you're not the reason the patient died. Everyone dies - you don't get to control that. As a high-acuity nurse, your goal must be to prolong life in the hope that meaningful recovery is possible. You use yo...

    The Trump Thread

Yet you seem to echo so many of his claims: that the incident with Daniels never happened and that the bank fraud in New York wasn't a crime because the banks got their money back are two that Spring immediately to mind.

    That "nurse"

Hospice doesn't pay for facility services. Is your objection that the patient is not appropriate for assisted living level of care?.
