I would say you have to be pretty smart along with great memory skills....This is a question I've been asking myself lately...I'm I smart enough to get through nursing schools b/c I'm struggling through Anatomy even though it's mostly memorization...

No any of the colleges in Alabama (community, university or private)...have waiting lists...you just have to reapply ever semester...and all of them go by G.P.A. in certain prereq's !!! However, they are pretty competitive!!
I wouldn't consider 18 months accelerated....all the regular nursing programs I know of are typically 18 months...5 semesters...so I'm sure you can do and continue to work!

I agree with Dawn 1971...you may not be able to get federal grants but unless you maxed out the 47000 in federal stafford loans and 20000 in federal perkins loans on your first degree...then you are still able to get those loans..
