At my CC, the LPN and RN program are the same for the first year. If you want to become an LPN you take a spin-off class during the summer. Most of the students who do so are planning to work as LPN's while they finish their ADN. Personally, I think I'll use that summer to finish my GE and extra chemistry to be able to bridge over to BSN at the local Uni after I get my RN.

The LPN has a 2 year waitlist, and the RN is 2-4.

At my school the RN has a big list of Pre-reqs with a points system that includes completed pre-reqs and GPA.

The LPN program is direct entry with the only basis for entry is the NET test. They take the top scorers off of the NET and let them in.

They're both very competitive programs, luckily i got into the LPN program this year (i didn't have near enough pre-reqs to apply for the RN program)

Its very competitive at my school also. We are required to take one pre-req - Survey of Anatomy and Physiology or you cansubstitute A&P 1 and 2. We are also required to take the NET test. Admission is based on your score from the NET and we get a certain amount of points added to the NET depending on what your grade is in A&P. For my class they admitted the top 62 people, not sure how many applied last year. Our director mentioned last week that for next years program, she had over 300 applicants.
