I have been following a NP that works in the NH and have noticed that she has ordered Restoril has a sleep aid before. Maybe you can inquire about that with the Md.
  2. Far from new grad

I'm actually trying to get out of home health. I think this is what's hindering me from a hospital job. For some reason HR and recruiters feel that "home health" is not enough med-surg to work in a hospital setting....
  3. Far from new grad

OriginalWmm, I'm definitely working on that. I noticied that HR is extremely sloooooooow. The nurse recruiters are not as eager to hire nurses as they use to be.
  4. Far from new grad

Mom to 4, Unfortunately, I tried the local agencies. They are looking for someone to just jump in on any floor and work. They are not interested in offering me orientation. That sucks!!!
  5. Far from new grad

dance4life, Yep, Indeed.com is my newest best friend. I have applied to multiple listings, the process is just taking a little longer than I expected. Thanks for your reply.
  6. Far from new grad

Hello all, I have been a RN for the past 6 1/2 years. My first RN job was in the Emergency Department. I worked there for approx 7 months, then went into home health. I worked home health in the field for 1 year. Since then I have been in the office...
  7. Future fall 2011 fnp students

missvictoriat, I rented several of my books for Undergrad at collegebookrenter.com. You can rent for 30,60, 90 days or a full semester. The prices were very reasonable. That is why I am eagerly awaiting my booklist, so that I can go ahead and start p...
  8. Future fall 2011 fnp students

Hi missvictoriat, I will also be starting the FNP program in the Fall. I live in MS, so I will be attending Alcorn State University. The program is mostly online, with a few meetings on campus. The things I have been doing to get prepared for the Fal...
  9. NP classes

Thanks for the response NauRN. I actually thought about starting the program part-time to see how stressful it would be, then maybe increase to full-time. But I guess I will make the final decision after talking with my advisor. Have you heard of any...
  10. NP classes

Thanks Buster4, I need all the encouragement I can get. And yes, my program will be primarily online except one or two campus meetings.. Appreciate your input.
  11. NP classes

Hello everyone, I have been accepted into a Nurse Practitioner program for Fall 2011. I am a little nervous but ready to get started at the same time. I just completed a RN-BSN program on-line and worked full time. I know it may not be possible for m...
  12. Financial assistance

Barlowbar, I recently found that website. I am patiently waiting for the scholarship application to open for 2011-2012. I am a little discouraged though because I heard it was very competitive to get that National health service corp scholarship. Tha...
  13. Financial assistance

Thanks, I will more than likely have to get student loans. The Institute of Higher Learning also awards scholarships up to $4,000 full time or $8,000 part-time with a 2 year committment. This will not be enough for school, so I was wondering if I sho...
  14. Financial assistance

Has anyone had any experience with scholarships or loan repayment programs while in NP school? I hope to start in the Fall and was just trying to figure out I was going to pay for grad school. Any feedback would be appreciated.
