Has anyone had any experience with scholarships or loan repayment programs while in NP school? I hope to start in the Fall and was just trying to figure out I was going to pay for grad school. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I paid for school with loans and some tuition reimbursement through my work place (until they discontinued it with the recession). Now that I'm finished with school, the job I just accepted offers loan repayment after 1 year of employment. They pay off a certain amount of my student loans for two years of service and then I can have more paid off for another two years of service.
Good luck with school.
Thanks, I will more than likely have to get student loans. The Institute of Higher Learning also awards scholarships up to $4,000 full time or $8,000 part-time with a 2 year committment. This will not be enough for school, so I was wondering if I should just get student loans and seek loan repayment afterwards. How was grad school?

I received a scholarship from National Health Service Corps that paid all the tuition plus a monthly stipend. It was a major relief to receive it. After graduation, I had to work for 3 years in an underserved area. But I am loan free! NHSC also provides loan repayment which is quite generous. You apply for it after graduation and it pays $25,000 a year for the first 2 years, then a smaller amount yearly after that.
Barlowbar,
I recently found that website. I am patiently waiting for the scholarship application to open for 2011-2012. I am a little discouraged though because I heard it was very competitive to get that National health service corp scholarship. That is definitely my first choice then if all else fails I'll do the student loan and seek repayment options later. Did you run into any problems when you applied for the scholarship? How long did it take you to find out if you were chosen?
