  1. Is my assumption correct??

I am going to print out a couple of these responses you guys are giving as they will help me. Nooooo, we don't have a privacy compliance officer. It's not a huge company it's small, locally owned and employs 30 to 45 employees at a time. There is n...
  2. Is my assumption correct??

I should have clarified what I meant by telling the patient to have their nurse call. A lot of the doctors do want their calls screened.....they only want "emergencies" BUT, how are these operators supposed to know what qualifies as a real emergency?...
  3. Is my assumption correct??

Hello all :) It's been a very long while since I've posted anything here and I have been a lurker the the past hmmmm, lets say 4 or 5 months. If anyone cares to read a some of my last posts you will see what my situation was and why I still am not a ...
  4. NET test good indication of success in nursing school?

No, I don't think the NET is any indication of how you'll do in nursing school. The NET is just basic stuff. I scored extremely high, but bombed my first semester of nursing school. So, there ya go.
  5. Phi Theta Kappa Membership?

The only upside to ours that I see is it being on your transcripts, and you can use it on your resume which looks good. I was sent an invitation to join, which shocked me after last semester...but I didn't join because I couldn't afford the dues. I s...
  6. "Some Dude" sure gets around!

    LOL, omg too funny!
  7. Yep...I agree.
  8. What skill do you practice on one another...????

physical assessments, and vitals...that's about it.
  9. What percent of clinicals spent doing gross stuff?

Well my clinicals last semester were spent in the nursing home where almost everyone was bowel incontinent and alot of stge III & IV ducubs...so I would say 80% of my time was spent dealing with things that made me cringe. The other 20% I was cha...
  10. *Update*Booted on last day of the semester

My reason for going into nursing is not just about money, but at the same time I need a stable job asap. LVN is the quickest way. We do have a few ADN programs here....and i have gotten some of the pre-reqs out of the way, but it would still take me...
  11. *Update*Booted on last day of the semester

lol, Yep I was on WIA. They have agreed to keep my case open for a year, but I have to pay fall semester on my own since I didn't pass one class out of 7. Had Bs, As, and one C. This whole bruhaha is over less than half a point. It's mind blowing.
  12. *Update*Booted on last day of the semester

No, my tuition was paid in full by another program I was on...WIA. The grant was left for living expenses, so of course I used the money towards bills and what not...that's what I was advised to do. I think the DON kind of took advantage of the state...
  13. *Update*Booted on last day of the semester

lol, I do remember Northern Exposure. I used to watch it all the time. That scholarship is amazing. I got all excited and then I saw that LPN students do not qualify for the scholarship:rolleyes: But, that's a great suggestion for anyone else who is...
  14. just when I thought I had saw it all!

Heck! I'm desperate enough to consider this! haha. I wouldn't go through w/it though. This is a time when getting a job would do my financial situation more harm than good. Pan handling on ebay is a bit much though. Weird.
  15. Final grade disappointment... why can't I let it go???

Considering how hard nursing school is, I would say an A- is an outstanding grade! But when you miss your goal buy a few tenths of a point...man that's rough. Can't say I'm an A student, but I got booted out of nursing school for less than half a po...
