First of all, congrats on the job! Sorry that you're being faced with so many struggles right out of the gate...but just know that we've all been there, and it does get better! Second, the best tips that I can offer are the following: * time manageme...
I've been an LPN for 7 years and worked in LTC for the last few years. I love what I do! My husband and I recently bought a house that is 3 counties away from where we were living (almost and hour away), and I started a new job in a LTC facility near...

Thanks! I appreciate the input!! The facility seems to be on the "up & up"...they have a great name in our community and very rarely have openings because they have employees that have stayed there for a long time. It really seems like a great pl...
I have been an LPN for 5 years. I worked for the first year as a night shift nurse in a hospital on med/surg unit (loved it)...then we moved and I had to leave that job. Hospitals where I live now do not hire LPNs, so I have been working the last 4 y...
I have been a nurse for 5 years. I started out in a hospital for about 1 year and then we relocated. At that point I was unable to get work in a hospital setting in my new location (they don't hire LPN's in the hospitals here). I have worked the last...

Just to clarify,I do know that sliding scales vary by patient as well as the type of insulin being given...I guess "scale" was the wrong term to use. What I have is more of a chart type thing where I can write in when my BS are due, what the results ...
I start my first LTC job as an LPN in one week (I have been working in a doctors office setting for 3 years). What kind of "tools" do I need to have to be a great LTC nurse? What do you carry with you on your job? Also, are there any cheat sheets, ...
