  1. Nurse Quacktitioner Doll

Here is a link to a website selling this idiotic toy. Furryville Collectible Single Figure Nurse Quacktitioner This is for those of you who want to leave a review letting people know how wrong this image of a nurse is.
  2. Sadistic CI? I need an opinion.

This was my second to last clinical placement (6th), but I had not ever worked in an ER. Frankly, I would rather not ever work in one. :) I can understand how these jokes could work as a coping mechanism. Thanks for the insight!
  3. Sadistic CI? I need an opinion.

Thanks for your reply, VivaLasViejas, I am just concerned about a clinical instructor teaching these things to students who are new to the field. I don't think it is a good idea to brush off some of these ideas on students. Joking around about givi...
  4. Sadistic CI? I need an opinion.

The following is an attachment sent to my clinical group by our clinical instructor. I find it sadistic and horribly inappropriate to set this kind of example, almost enough to report it to the head of the department (the semester has been over for ...
  5. Prayer needed for my friend!

You and she are in my deepest prayers. May you have strength and peace during this difficult time.
  6. BSN to practice ethical dilemma - where do you stand?

I am in a grueling associate degree program, and I certainly don't see what an extra chemistry class and a few more liberal arts courses would do to help me in the clinical environment. I definitely don't think that a BSN should be required for an ...
  7. Pre-shift yoga classes

I was thinking about how wonderful it would be to have a program at facilities where you show up for a yoga class prior to your shift. An instructor would be hired to teach a class at 0530 and 1730 at the hospital for nurses. This could be a great ...
  8. Please tell me this is normal!!!

Just watch out for CIs who feed on nervous students. They're out there (I know first-hand). Take advantage of any resources you have in order to intervene with your anxiety (lawfully and safely of course). Good luck!
  9. Staying back a semester

I should have delegated for somebody to find a thermometer for my patient. The patient was on 3 antibiotics and q4 vitals. I was already having problems with my organization throughout the semester, but I was on my way to proving myself to my inst...
  10. Staying back a semester

Next semester should have been my last semester in my associate degree program. Now I should be graduating in May instead of December. :urgycld:
  11. anyone taking or have taken eri's?!?

Do the practice tests over and over, since they give you the opportunity to do them. I find it surprising that they make you pass those in order to move on to the next course. They don't do that for us. ERI is to help us with boards and for staff...
  12. Staying back a semester

I haven't been as successful this semester as I would have liked to, and then last week I was called out for negligence in clinical, and I feel like a total LOSER. I never want to be negligent with my patients. I never want anybody to be unsafe in ...
  13. help please...deperate for OB nursing diagnosis

  14. Help with Care Plans

Are you having a hard time coming up with a priority collaborative problem itself, or with listing the interventions or both?
  15. In need of some moral support: VENT

I second FuturoEnfermera's note about the SSRI. I don't think that I would have made it this far without my fluoxetine. I started taking it during my first semester in the program, and it has really been helpful for me and my anxiety.
