You know, good nurses need compassion. I feel bad for anyone who has to work with the likes of you. I hope you are never in a position to need help from your fellow workers, because if you act like this, you're not likely to get it. For your infor...
We don't have isolation rooms period. Not only that, but they keep all the isolation garb IN the room so you have to enter the room in order to garb up. That's what really has me concerned. No matter what type of isolation the resident is in, they...

I am 28 years old and so far have had only one rectal, and that was when I was trying to get pregnant and the doctor was trying to feel the uterus. She also stated that I was getting the rectal very early and she normally wouldn't do it until around...

I work agency and one of the facilities I go to had a very similar resident. He was in his fifties and weighed over 300 pounds. He required a total assist because he refused to do anything for himself, yet he struck out at all those around him. Hi...
I am a pregnant LPN working in long term care as an agency nurse. One of the facilities I work at has a resident with respiratory MRSA under contact isolation precautions. The nurse in my doctor's office said it is unsafe for me to be in the room...
We were taught in school that LPN's may not take phone orders, only an RN may do so. However, I'm working agency and have seen LPN's taking phone orders.
I work agency and we are required to wear a badge with our first and last name every place we go, and I've noticed that most of the places I've been to require first and last as well.

When I was a student, which was recently (I just graduated in August), there was one woman at the hospital who wore hers, said she'd been a nurse for tweny years and never once worked without her cap!! Personally, I wouldn't do it!!
My husband had whiplash r/t a car accident and he hurt just like this. The only thing that helped him was a muscle relaxer alternated with heat. Good luck!!
I don't graduate until August, and our school didn't require it, but when I went for the pre entrance physical, my doctor informed me that in PA, all hospitals require all employees to be vaccinated, so I got immunized.
I will graduate in August as an LPN and from the research I've done, here in Northeast PA LPN's receive $12.00--$14.00 in hospitals and $16.00--to $20.00 in nursing homes. Some of the private duty ads in the papers are hiring for over $30.00.
